Waited 6 Months; Username 2 Characters too Long

I mess around offline for a little bit before I got the account. I made an account last night and it let me put in my usual 18 character username. Now the game is still unplayable. This game has so much potential, but is so broken. I honestly think the backend should be rewritten. Let's ditch RakNet for NodeJS and MongoDB. Welcome to the modern web and this game is nowhere near modern.

The game is "broken" for a reason. The creator has started on new projects and there's no way for the game to be updated for real without the source code.
There's warnings around the forum to keep your username 16 characters or less.

I know why the game is broken. Why can't Kovu just push the source to Github. It's not that hard. It's least he could do. I didn't remember the character limit 6 months since the last time I browsed the forums. Where can I find his new projects?

As far as I know, Kovu doesn't care about the game anymore. FeralHeart is stuck the way it is, and that's just how it's gonna be until some miracle happens. Nonetheless, I wish you luck on catching registration open again.

Also, I'm not sure where his new projects are, if he even has any. Last I heard, Feral Tales was the last project he had started but never finished, which was a Facebook game.

Sadly, even though Kovu isn't here to update the game, we can at least appreciate he didn't delete the forum and the game. And even though the 16 characters can get out of hand, I think it's pretty useful - you know, to get ride of the unnecessary names which gives me a headache. Anyway, I'm sorry to hear the news and give you best wishes on catching the registration.

As for the character limit, there is not much we can do about this at the current moment without an update. That being said, there are quite a few reminders around the website that let users know to keep usernames under 16 characters. Even if this is not seen, the Registration opens quite often, and you shouldn't have too much trouble findind it open. Is their even a way to still contact him? Or do I have make my own MMO from scratch to solve this issue? I'm fine with the latter. I was gonna do It anyway.

What about the patch system? How does that work? Is it possible to add new features to the core of the game via patch and never needing to access the source in the first place?

You are free to try and contact him, although the Staff have been trying to do it for years with no success. We actually don't use the patch system anymore. Instead, it became more convenient to put all of the maps and updates into one download (the main download.) We can't exactly change or update the game because we don't have the source code. Users can modify certain aspects of gameplay, though, by creating modifications and animations. We have a board dedicated for users to share their creations here. I believe this topic has begun to stray from the original topic of discussion, so I will be locking this.
