Screenshots / Weekly Meet-Up (9-3-2022)Screenshots

Hello everyone,

I have a bunch of screenies to show you guys from the Weekly Meet-Ups we have on Saturday.


We had a very awesome amount of turnout for the event. 10 people plus showed up which is really a large amount compared to the Previous Meetups.
So I'd like to thank everyone for showing up. Maybe even this time we can get even more people to come sense for this coming Saturday the event is gonna be held a lot earlier. (3-5pm EST)

But regardless, I hope everyone had a great time.

We played Would you Rather Alot while talking and joking around. 
We even got lucky and got a visit from a CowBow and Cowgirl!!!!


We also got to see Stormi(BloodWinsAll)'s New preset or updated preset of their character Ashtur which looks sick as heck!!!! Like I said, "Da Boi is on FIRE!!!"

The only issue I had was that I didn't get the Event photo in the beginning of the event. And some of the people that came either left or were popping in to say high and leaving. SO next time I'll take a group photo at the beginning and threw out try to focus enough to take more screenshots.

Community Activities Hub / Weekly Meet-up(The Gathering) 9-10-2022

The Gathering
a Weekly In-game Meetup
Currently going to be held at 3pm-5pm EST on Saterday, at Kiwimbi Beach(READ FOR MORE INFO)
Hello everyone,

Hopefully everyone is having a good Evening/morning/day/etc. As we all know currently, everyone seems to notice activity in the Game has been very low. However, Myself, Ame, Domino, and FermieNerd devised some plans to bring activity in-game backup and bring more new players into the game.
Hence, Been working with some friends in the FHS server to come up with extra ideas and ways to bring new people into FH and promote activity in-game.

Currently, this is will be our 3rd Gathering coming up.

First of all, these are our goals for starting up these weekly meet-ups in-game.

This would be a place to socialize and meet new people and for groups to advertise and gain members.
This would give a place for newcomers to come to see the community gather and make friends as well as find packs and groups to join.

This will only be once a week and on the same map and area. But if the activity gets good enough and they become a bigger thing we may have the meet-up happen 2 times a week. But for now, we will stick to 1 time a week.

NEWS

We had a Larger turnout than Ever this week. 10 people including myself showed up. Like to thank all of you for coming to the event. I was very happy to see everyone turning out to hang out and vibe. Not to mention playing Would you Rather was really fun. I'm hoping even more people turn out next week.

Next Meet-Up News
Ok, for this week we will be having a slight deviation from the normal time we meet up each week. This time instead of meeting up at the normal 8pm-10pm EST. We will be meeting up from 3pm-5pm EST as well as the Map will be Kiwimbi Beach this week.

Why?

Simply put I have obligations that night at our normal times. So, Had to move the times. However, this gives access to the people that can't usually Make it to the meet-ups. So it's a win-win. I get to focus on my irl obligations as well as people that can't usually make it due to their time zones have the chance to come.
As well as if we are playing Tag or Hide n' Seek I want it to be in a place with LOTS of hiding spots and room to run. So, Kiwimbi Beach is a good place to test out playing there. If it turns out we need more space. I may switch from Kiwimbi Beach to another map every so often so Hide n' seek doesn't get boring.

As usual, I will be online if anyone is open to it. I will be online an extra two Hours. 1 Hr before the event, 2pm EST. And 1 hr after the event 6pm EST. This is a stand-in for another event I was wanting to host but was pushed to the back burner due to the weekly meet-ups.
These times will be dedicated to taking awesome screenshots for Ourselves as well as our social media accounts. I know I and a few people have Unofficial Feral-Heart media accounts. So during the events, we will be taking screenshots as well as during these time slots we can go elsewhere in FH and Take Screenshots of the as well.
Figured this was a good idea for everyone since Most will be online anyways and will already be at the event might as well set some time aside for screenshots as well.

Currently, I plan on going to Cherika Valley And Kibou Ridge to Take screenshots.

Activities

We will be having games this time around. We are trying to think of more of these games to play and are open to suggestions.

Additional News

Fall is closing in Fast!!!
Personally thinking up some good contests to hold and maybe implement into each week. Also, keep your eyes open. Pretty sure FH will have an Offical Halloween Party as always.

I have a streaming channel I'm planning to set up. Hoping I can get on FH and run around from time to time. So I may be on more often and Hope to just showcase the game. Currently thinking of Opening a few free slots for Halloween Preset customs. So that it can promote the Game in itself.

Planning on Hosting come Contests of my own this fall. Hopefully, I can find judges to help me with this. That said I will put out an announcement for that next week Hopefully.

That all said, I think that all the updates I have at the moment.

What times does the Meetups Take Place?

I debated and sense most people normally have the weekend off. Figured it would be best to schedule the meetups on the weekend.

After debate, I figured out the time as well…

Saturdays at 8pm-10pm EST(Eastern Standard Time)
(This is subject to change if we decided to have the Meetup last longer or less)

Final Bits of Information

There is a chance that we will make up a Spotify playlist to add to this. Also, we may just stream it on Discord as well who knows?

NEWS

Last week we didn't have too many people show up. Out of the count we only had 3 people show.
I know a lot of people were busy or forgotten. Also, I know some people just didn't know about it. I honestly wasn't sure of posting a second post about it. SO I was doing all the updates on the old thread. Hence, I guess a lot of people didn't notice it as they thought it may have been old news.

So From now on, I will be posting updates, news, and upcoming stuff once a week on this event. Hopefully on Sunday or Monday.

Unfortunately, I'm human and plum forgot about posting this. That was my fault and will offer my apologies for that. =3="

This way everyone can see what's planned for the meet-up if we decide to hold the weekly meet-up on a different map and where, and what activities are going on. As well as if we have to change the times of the meet-up.

Upcoming News and Information

Changing times... As you guys know I set these meet-ups every week.
It never conflicts with my schedule. So I'm welcome doing it as it gives me something to look forward to each week.
However, If something comes up or conflicts with it. I will have to change it.
Currently, I have something coming up during next week's (9/10) normal meet-up time. So the event time may change to 3pm-5pm EST.

Also, I'm thinking of adding a few contests into the mix of our Weekly Meet-ups. Not sure how often this will happen. But I know this is an option or avenue we can go down. Personally, I look forward to it. Either way, I'd probably announce the winners at the weekly event and in a forum post afterward.
Maybe I'll make them on the forums as well separate from the weekly event. (Either way, I may include it on this Post as well. Depends on what happens.)

Additional News

Characters / My newest Baby is done!!!!(Peaches, The Mushroom Cat)

I finally finished her!!!!

I've been working on this sweety for over a year. Finally finished her ref sheet. And I am absolutely in love with her.

Meet my New baby... Peaches, The Mushroom Cat.


As you can see I have a thing for mushrooms. The mushrooms I based her on were Rhodotus palmatus or Peach Wrinkle Mushrooms. They are also known as netted rhodotus, the rosy veincap, or the wrinkled peach. However, I think the image I based her design on was photoshopped unfortunately cause she is more of a light pink than Peach and the Secretions are more blood red than golden.

I didn't even realize it I was over 60% done with designing Peaches. So I rolled with it.
However, as you can tell she has a lot of different Mushrooms all over which would make her a pain to draw. If I ever were to get art made of her. They probably charge me a lot but I did make a solution to that.
As you can guess mushrooms are somewhat delicate. Doesn't take too much to break them. So Figured, her mushrooms would fall off often. So, of course, she would grow her mushrooms back. So The artist can take a lot of liberties with the mushroom placement and how many mushrooms she has on her body. Cause they would pretty much break off often that she would constantly be growing new ones.
Though the mushrooms are NOT edible. Please Keep that in mind.

As for the Jelly-Like secretions, also known as Guttations. These are the same way as the mushrooms. They easily come off her body. It's why some of these droplets are bigger than others. Maybe at some points, she would have more of these droplets than others.

Her hair also is the same way. Cause it's your standard tree lichen you can find on any tree. It's flexible and soft but at the same time can easily snap off.

Her chest lace or floof if you wanna call it that. Are not native to the Peach Wrinkle Mushroom. But, fit me and Peach as a character more as I like chest fluff a lot. (You can notice that in most of my characters)
This Lace is more similar to mushrooms like this Fly Agaric Mushroom.

Fly Agaric Mushroom

Peaches is more of a layered version of this. But it's not fragile as the mushrooms, Lichen hair, or Jelly-Secretions.
These can stand a lot of wear and tear. Similar to fur or just an extension of her body. (Like flesh)
Despite this, they are very soft.

In the future, I may make more of these Little beans and sell them as adopts. I'll be honest, took every fiber in me not to turn her into a tiger. Why? The whisker markings... Most tigers have this at the base of their whiskers. But with the spots no way I could have done that to her. But sure as heck the next one I make for sure will be a mushroom tiger.

That said, I'm glad I got the chance to share my new baby with you. Hope to share more of mine with you.

Was Hoping to set up a Screenshot photo shoot So that I can post the photos on the Unofficial Feral-heart account I made on Furry4Ever Amino to promote FH. If anyone else has an account to promote the game. They can come as well. Also All about brainstorming ideas for posts on there as well.

We can talk more about it below. Personally was thinking about having it maybe Friday Night at maybe 9pm EST.
(I will change the time if the timing doesn't work.)

Mello Everyone,

Last week on Saturday Night was our first ever Feral Heart Weekly Meet Up.

We had a decent turnout for the Meet-up tbh. It was really fun.
Me, DylanCheetah, and Giggles were Having a lot of fun CHilling and hanging out on the beach at Kiwimbi Beach.

I just about died when Giggles(AutisticHyena) smiled for the Silly group Photos. I literally thought Chubster(Her OC, and Preset she used) had no teeth till I looked closer to see he had more rodent-like teeth!!! XD

Also don't mind my failed attempt at screenshots of Giggles(AutisticHyena) OC Chubster. The model happened to blink when I screenshotted it.

All in all, it was a really nice Meet-up. That said I hope everyone else had fun. And Next week We may have more fun things to do.

Game Discussion / My Personal Recommended Mods For FH

Hello Everyone,

It's me, TheEarthSpirit again. Was wanting to list off a bunch of my favorite FH mods. These mods range from Game maps, character add-ons, fur textures, and Item Packs. Good chunks of these I personally use.
Note that there are a lot of awesome FH mods made by other users etc. But I figure it will be best to post some that I can recommend to new players to start off with. As well as some that aid not just in making the game better but gives more content and possibly help with ings like Preset creation.
So no shade to them. I just like these mods and that's my personal opinion. If yours is not on this list go ahead and post the pick of your favorites below. Could help any newcomers to the game.

Since none of these will be my own, I will credit the maker and leave a link to the mod's post on the forums. That way you can download it yourself if you choose. Also, I will include images and such as well.

Character Modifying Mods

Claws Mod
What this mod does is adds claws or toenails to your canine and feline and canine characters.
These are colorable by using the Tuft or many colors. OR if you make a preset coloring in the ordinarily unused sides of the tail file.

Honestly look at these toe beans with claws: O.O
Just keep in mind these are not Animated. So the claws on Felines won't retract and constantly be out.

Mod Maker: Tiggs

Legendary Markings
Legendary markings adds a ton of new markings to your FH creation pool of markings. If you see “Markshmellows” aka Users with White bodies or they are messing parts. 9 times out of 10 it's because they are using Legendary Markings or They have a preset on.
So to best experience the Game it's best and Recommended that you Download Legendary markings.

Mod Maker: ???

Legendary Items
Legendary Items is a mod that adds a TON of items into your character creator.
It is a huge combination of Weapons, collars, necklaces, bracelets, ties, bags, Helmets, crowns, and so on.
The newest version has over … amount of items and combines multiple Item packs from FH. I know a good chunk of FH players have the same Pack so you will be able to see all their items as well. (When you download a different mod pack or marking pack you will see weird stuff. Like them having odd items they should or wouldn't have on. They will see something else other than what you do item-wise.)

Mod Maker: ???(Multiple cause I think it also combines multiple item packs)

Maps And Game Content Add-Ons

Old FH Maps Download
A long time ago when FH updated last updated our current maps were added and the old maps were thrown out. This caused a lot of anger in the community as many loved the old maps in spite of the rushed-looking, janky nature. Some even looked half-finished.
People had grown to love those maps. Some people actually left due to this.
Even though the new maps met the Community needs better, as we had grown so much before that there was not enough rp space for us all. As well as there just weren’t enough dens for all of us to have one for rp purposes.
And these looked better, were filled with content, easter eggs, and so on as the old was really janky. Often you would glitch threw objects. Even some people were using these glitches for dens because the situation with that was so bad.
To be honest I was not around for this part of the communities history. I did mess the game before the update. That was before I found this mod.
The community provides!!!
A complete mod that adds all of the old maps seamlessly to the updated version of FH.
Normally when you download maps you have to go to Cape of Distant Worlds to access them. This one does not even affect Cape or anything. It adds a new cave to Lonely cave just to the right of the spawn point.
This cave gives you access to all the old maps. And the Old lonely cave even allows you to see people now.
Newbies I recommend going with a veteran player that can show you your way around. But it's fun. You can even climb Ascension Island to Skys Rim. Swim in the deepest seas of Atlantis. Play in the snow at the South Pole. Run the plains of Flourite. Get lost in Last Cave. And Just have fun.

Bawfle’s Public Portals Mod


For me, I love my Cape of Distant worlds Maps. However, with the normal portals, they are excessively hard to find for me visually when I got to jump in one. So I downloaded one of Bawfles Portals.
Now I can actually find the entrances to my maps at Cape!!!
But not only that it looks sick as well.
But better yet these portals aren’t just a picture or anything. Oh no!!!
These are Animated, even though it doesn’t show it in the pictures they move.
To make it even cooler she has various versions available for download so find your favorite.
(You can already tell mine.)

How to Make Presets(Forum Post Explains Making Presets)
There are TONS of tutorials on how to make presets. So I’m going to just post my favs.
But as always if you have issues don’t be afraid to ask. The whole community will not mind helping you including myself. So never be scared to ask for help.

1. Number 1 favorite one has to be the FH Manual. It has a tab on presets.
It is excellent at explaining the process. My best advice is to start with it.
Then if you have more Questions go to another tutorial.

Is very well made and very simple to get.
It even includes downloads which will provide you with Simple to use templates and a PDF to explain how to create presets.

Preset Helper(Additional Asset Helpful for Preset Makers)
This is an additional Asset made by Tikoucas.
They made a program specifically for aiding in making presets.
With FH what used to be the case of creating presets was in order to check your coding and artwork while working on a preset. Was difficult and time-consuming.
Without it, you had to do all your work. And in order to test it to see if anything was wrong or placed in the wrong place. You had to put it all into FH. Load it up Check it.
Something wrong? Fix it. Close FH. Reload up FH.
Check it again. Oof.
With this program, you can see it being made in real-time. Press F5 and it instantly reloads/updates. So you can see your progress in real-time. You can even see from different angles. BIG Lifesaver for anyone working on presets.

Material Coding For Beginners(Helpful ForumPost for Preset Makers)
This Blog Post shows and even provides you with detailed instructions on how to make multiple coded effects to your presets.
The ones it tells you how to do is;

Adding Wings to Presets
- Ghost effect
- Glowing and Shading(Does not cover glowing presets)
- Metallic Markings
- Transparent and Semi-Transparent
- Glowing Markings
- Scrolling Presets
It also gives you the code to copy and paste. Still takes some know-how to code things in. But if you get to learn how to do this you can make thousands of different presets. Maybe your character is messing a leg? Maybe they are a ghost? Maybe they are a robot?
Either way with these codes your options are limitless. The skys the limit.

I personally have searched each Default Game Map in FH.
And found the perfect one that...

- Doesn’t get much use.

- Can hold a lot of people.

- Is large enough to allow for tons more people to join us over time.

As you can see the Maps got a lot of variations in places. From grasslands to stepping stones. To many pack areas. Even a waterfall, mangrove area, and even a beach so figured it was a perfect fit.

This is not to mention the place which will be the 'main hub' of the meet-up, or Gathering.

Of course, groups and players are welcome to go wherever they please. But the main hub of the place. Or the central area of the event will be located here on the map below.

The yellow mark is the hub.

Personally, I always pictured this spot as a marketplace in my mind. Where all species and packs can buy whatever they want. Little companions/pets, Herbs, Bags, weapons, accessories, food, and so on. This sorda would fill that void.

Plus the map is so beautiful and hate that it's so underused.

What times does the Meetups Take Place?

I debated and sense most people normally have the weekend off. Figured it would be best to schedule the meetups on the weekend.

After debate, I figured out the time as well…

Saturdays at 8pm-10pm EST(Eastern Standard Time)
(This is subject to change if we decided to have the Meetup last longer or less)

Final Bits of Information

There is a chance that we will make up a Spotify playlist to add to this. Also, we may just stream it on Discord as well who knows?

A while back I wanted to do a test on drawing overtop screenshots. This method was planned to be used in youtube vids if I ever had the means and time to make them.

I went around FH in different spots taking screenshots till I found one I liked. And then ot knowing how it would come out I decided to do a free ych as a test. Spots were quickly taken and I just finally finished it!!!

To say I'm happy with it is an understatement. It came out really well. Even with the shading, the characters look like they are in the game itself. (Despite the clear lineart)
It's safe to say I will be making more ych from screenshots. And not only that but I will be using these methods for youtube vids as well.

Game Suggestions & Ideas / InGame Loading screens

I remember back in the day we use to have artwork as loading screens.
When you went from Map to Map you would see artwork from various people.
I was told that those were taken though and replaced with screenshots of the various maps due to no one having permission to use them or something of the like.

I'd like to propose that you guys could bring that back with each update you make to the game but each time run a contest for it. You can pick multiple winners. And each one gets put in as a loading screen. Along with the loading screen, you can put the artist info as well as the little game hints...

Example: In the far right corner in a visible text color have it say, "Art by So and So" and elsewhere in the frame just the info. "You can move around using the w,a,s, and d keys" or maybe a funny joke, or some kind of random info on one or two like Minecraft and Fallout does. (I remember the staff saying an inside joke about them being Mini Raz clones. XD)
"The Ground is the central gathering place in the game." or, "Some say the staff are Raz clones. They say if you bump into them you can hear the metal clank. But that's just a rumor...right?"
