Thanks for coming, guys! Red picks the movies himself but I'm sure he's open to suggestions... Doubt there will be a thread for it though so feel free to post them here. This is sort of the unofficial FH Movie Night thread since there isn't one xD
As for FH and Livestream running at the same time; just window them both. If your computer isn't incredibly old it should be fine. Most tend to experience a bit of lag but none too bad.

Next movie should be next weekend sometime. Hopefully we'll be watching TLK2 but no promises yet!
Also Red likes to host Wolf's Rain episodes on the weekdays as well... those are advertised ingame (Fluorite) and on deviantART. You'll just have to keep checking back. :3

Possibly... but it's not likely. To be honest, it would be difficult to make special accommodations for some users but not others, if you know what I mean. There are users who can't ever watch the movies simply because of timezones. Maybe you could ask to stay on the computer a bit longer? I wish there were something else I could do to help... Unfortunately the times are pretty much set for movies, due to everyone being on around that time.
However, if you'd like to make it for the occasional weekday showings of Wolf's Rain, they're streamed earlier sometimes.

I could try, but I'd only do it if Red was streaming a film that I wanted to watch. I haven't seen Balto 2 (which I believe will be streaming next?) but I predict that I won't enjoy these 'wolfaboo' films. So, if people get there early, at least I can be 'there' and enjoy myself in the map.
I'll start begging if things get interesting, if you know what I mean. But thank you again, Wolfs.

I'm with you, Zarago. Not a huge fan of Balto II. The first Balto is one of my favorite childhood movies, but the 'wolfaboo-ness' of Balto II really grated on my nerves, even as a kid. But I'll try to come anyway, just to see people's reactions to the movie and to socialize. I loved seeing people's reactions to The Lion King! :D

Managed to get there yesterday and enjoyed myself thourougly, but I could sit through the film. Painful stuff, no offense intended to anyone.
I do think there could be more done with the map itself, though. It doesn't feel official, and it's messy. It would be great if it could be re-made whilst looking at images of actual cinemas with different screens, places to buy tickets, more food (unlike bowls of noodles and burgers on shelves).

Zarago- I'm sure Red appreciates the critique. Considering he made it whilst livestreaming, in a very short amount of time and with no meshes made specifically for the Cinema map itself, I'd say he did a fine job. I believe he has plans to re-make it soon -- bigger and better -- with custom movie theater meshes made by a friend. But again, no promises. I, personally, love the map and the whole idea of it. And I think it's nice of Red to take his own time to make a map and host these movies for us to enjoy.

Hey Wolffie? How do I make it so the live feed and slideshows show up on the screen. When Lion king was played it never showed up on the screen in the theatre so i watched it in a different window

Well I've already explained this to Bloo via Skype, but for anyone else who is confused about getting the movie to play inside the map:
It doesn't. xD You HAVE to watch it in a separate window through Red's Livestream. I apologize for the misleading screenshots. There was a slideshow of random pictures (some of which included movie stills) in the very first version of the FH Cinema map that only I and a few others still have. The one that's currently public is the one with the spinning FH logo on the screen.
Hope that clears things up for some!

Info is all on the first page. When you download the map, there will be a zip file with a readme inside that has further instructions.
Once you have it installed, go to Cape and find the portal for FeralHeart Cinema. And then open up Red's livestream (link on first page) and wait for him to start streaming it. ^_^

Well, They actually do show up in the map. I don't know how but Red knows how, if you stay there tonight, if it works, you can see it on the screen (I belive it will show on screen), just have patience and wait for it.

Actually, Varagena is right. The movie shows via Red's livestream, in a separate window. Might be a bit confusing but that's how it works. Unfortunately, FH doesn't support streaming within the game.

Weds quick lesson on how to understand timezones:
A day consist of 24 hours, and living on different parts of the globe means we'd have sunset, sunrise, day and midnight at different times of this day compared to someone that lives on the other side of the planet away from you.
To make things more convenient for certain world parts, countries(cities even) and being able to have mornings at 8am, afternoons at 3pm etc. We have individual clocks for different locations but they all go within the 24 hour time span. These are called TIMEZONES.
So I myself for example live in Sweden, and I have my 24 hours of the day like anyone else. But worldwide I have the timezone GMT+1 also known as UTC+1. While the East coast in the US would have either UTC-5 or EST/EDT(Their own timezone name). Which means that if you, as a user living in the EST/EDT zone would tell me to be online at 7pm without taking any consideration of what time I'd actually have, A swede or anyone living in the GMT+1/UTC+1 timezone would need to be online at 1am their time since there's a whole 6 hours apart from US and Sweden.
This is why we have something like UTC clock to make it easier for us(think it's called Universal Time Clock). The clock starts at 0 hours timezone change in the UK, and then it goes 12 hours ahead(UTC+) to the edge of the world map. But it also goes 12 hours back(UTC-).
So if I were to say to someone to meet me inside the game at 5pm UTC, we'd have to think which timezone we live in and if everyone think UTC it should be simple + to minus math. I myself would just need to +1 hour onto the clock, and then I'd have my current time which I see on all the clocks around me. Same thing works for anyone no matter where you live on the planet, as long as you follow the UTC clock and add on hours, or remove depending on which side of the globe you live, you will end up having YOUR time, and that way you'd know when to meet someone.
The only thing is that both of the users must know their timezones, something we should learn in school to be honest but we really don't. So it's up to you to get a hang of it yourself. Just take a look at the map, find out where you live, and count how many hours you are apart.

Yes that's right. 24:00 is the end of the day Saturday while 00:00 is the beginning on Sunday, UTC time. I put both depending on your preference. If you live in the US, the movie will show sometime around 4pm-7pm Saturday. If you live in Australia it will most likely be early morning (around 9am) on Sunday for you.
Also-- we haven't really set a schedule for the Wolf's Rain episodes. We kinda just show them whenever we have time. That's why it says TBA (To Be Announced.)

Well to be honest I'm not sure if there will be any more movie nights. Red may play something this coming Saturday but it's all in the air for right now, really.
Though Livestream is simply a website where you can watch other people stream videos/events/etc for free. The links for the Livestreams that we use in particular are on the first page. Red streams the movie via his Livestream(s) as we all sit in the theater map and watch it in a separate window. Hope that makes things more simple for you. xD

As wolfie said, things are slightly uncertain at this moment.
But lets see if there's anything this weekend since I might be busy on saturday night when we usually stream.
However, right now there's plans on maybe streaming Lady and the tramp 2 this Friday instead.
So for you who are really looking forward to the movie nights, feel free to keep track around midnight UTC 00.00/ 7pm EDT. That's when there might be a movie, I'll repost if I know for certain this will happen.

I might not be able to make it to the movie on Friday, considering now I'm in the upper-level band at school and we're required to be all football games and there's one on Friday. But who knows. As suggested above, we will actually watch that movie today since it's not a bad idea at all.
I think the movie will start at 00.00 UTC/ 7pm EDT as it seems now, but it might be postponed an hour tops if things doesn't click. The movie will be on however. I'll leave wolfie to update this thread if she haz times. Will post a journal notice on DA as always though.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sudden movie night yesterday so thanks to everyone who was in charge of hosting it and well having one at all yesterday. I didn't think we would have one this week, but yeah I came late unfortunately and missed most of it anyway. The little time I had was fun nontheless. Is there anyway you guys could post yesterday's podcast if you recorded it? I only got to hear like 10 minutes of it if I'm lucky.

Feral City dosent have viruses, my software which is Norton said that too and Norton always says something contains viruses if only a tiny amount of people ((That have Norton)) have downloaded it. As for the other things I dont really know someone else would have to answer them

First off please avoid double posting Eleven. If you're having trouble shooting or any other issues you should post your question in the help section of the forum. The Feral City download is safe and does not contain any viruses as long as you download it from the official link given. When I first tried to download Feral City I too got some warning messages in my pc about a virus etc. The security softwares and anti virus programs are very sensitive to unknown files etc and thus will sometimes give unnecessary warnings especially if the publisher is unknown. All you have to do is temporarily shut off any anti virus program & security softwares on your pc until you finish the download. You can find the settings to most of them in your control panel on your pc. As for the file doubling I highly doubt that will effect how the program runs and whether it works or not (Aside from double particles). Just delete the extras. Usually if you're doubling files the computer gives you a warning and asks you if you want to replace them with the existing file so maybe you already over wrote them without noticing.

The only reason why norton says it's a virus is cause you downloaded the executable and not the zip. Even though it contains exactly the same things. It's just phail like that. xD
Download the mac version since it's a zip and follow the readme/install it yourself if you believe in the false threats of doom and destructiones.

Although; Livestream is a free service unless you upgrade... so paying for it shouldn't even be a problem because it's free xD But if it's your computer that can't run them at the same time, that's something entirely different. Anyhow I hope you are able to join us for movie night regardless of this c:

It should have worked. You probably did something wrong.
Make sure you are going to the upper right side of the forum and clicking the "character reset" option.
It should look like this:

From there you log in again and then select either the "go home" or "reset home" option.
After that restart the game and log back into that character. If done correctly you'll be out of Feral City.

Make sure you are going to the upper right side of the forum and clicking the "character reset" option.
It should look like this:

From there you log in again and then select either the "go home" or "reset home" option.
After that restart the game and log back into that character. If done correctly you'll be out of Feral City.

All you have to download is the Feral City map which is linked on the first page of this post. There is a sub map in Feral City called the cinema where the other users gather on movie night to socialize and sit in the mock theater. The movie screen in the theater doesn't actually display the movie and therefore we use livestream to watch it. Red features the movie of his choice via his live stream channels which you can also find the link to on the first page of this post. Livestream is free and you do not have to download anything to use it as long as you've got your adobe flash up to date etc. Your webcam doesn't have to be on for the livestream to work either so no need to worry about that, since Red is the one featuring the livestream what ever appears on the stream is what he's recording on his desktop which is the movie and sometimes his gameplay on FeralHeart. None of your personal information will be needed or accessed for the livestream.

We already watched Balto, and so far all of the movies have had an 'animal' theme, so I'm not sure The Hunger Games would qualify for a FH Movie Night.

Watership Down is a very good suggestion. The only issue I see is that there is quite a bit of blood and gore in that film, and FH and the FH Movie Nights are meant to be family-friendly.

Well, as you'll read on the first page of the thread, the last movie night was back in October. So, for now, no new movie nights have been set up.
Keep an eye on this thread, though, since they'll make it very well-known if/when we have another movie night. They typically happen in the summertime, though, so we may have to sit tight for a little bit longer~

When they do the movies, they're streamed via Livestream.com, which does just that-- streams videos. All you'll have to do is get the link (which will be provided in the main thread for Movie Night, here), open the page, and the movie will play for you when the streamer decides to start it. And so, everyone will be watching the same thing at the same time, and you can also chat in in the chatboxes provided on the livestream page.

As for the movies we play, that's usually decided by staff before we show it - sometimes we'll have a few weekends planned in advance, other times we grab something to watch 5 minutes before we start. We don't usually have a public vote on it - though sometimes we do. Maybe this summer we'll put up a poll on deviantart regarding it.

No, that was just to differentiate the public premiere of The Lion King on Feral Movie Night from the private test viewing (to make sure the streaming site worked and stuff) of Brother Bear. Pretty much everything else was a public movie night, and I'm pretty positive that if there will be more movie nights, they will be public too. :)

I like those suggestions and about younger kids. Well people would be given warnings before the movie starts about what it contains and if little kids still decide to stay and they have nightmares or whatever then that's their own fault really. I'm 11, I've watched Hunger Games and I LOVED it!

Yes, we just don't know the dates yet. Since some people (including the mods) are still finishing up school they won't be able to get the dates all set up until school is out. Check back here for updates around the end of June. That's when school ends I'm pretty sure.

Which one? Feral City or FeralHeart Cinema? The Cinema only has people on it when the movies are playing. Both maps are still active, they are just not like Flourite.
