Discussion Board / Re: Your favorite Cartoon Network show(s)?

Craig of the Creek! It's a show about a boy named Craig, his friends, and their afterschool adventures out at the creek by their neighborhood. I'm normally not too big on watching television, but the show's so cute and manages to portray the child characters in a realistic yet flattering way. If anyone here is or was a fan of Clarence or Hey Arnold I think you should definitely check it out.

Horses? Not a fan of them tbh, they look nice but they're scary to be around.

The next poster is a redditor.

Personally? I'd nope the heck out.

I only come onto FH when the mood strikes and having to enforce rules or monitor the forums would, honestly, be a massive drag. Why on earth would I want to watch over other players when I could be RPing or chatting with them instead?

I've held moderator positions at a few casual RP sites in the past (though none have ever been close to the size of Feralheart's) and it's nothing I'd want to do again just because of how demanding they were.

Seems like thankless work, anyways.

Game Discussion / Why do Leogui ears exist?
« on: August 27, 2018, 12:39:46 am »
When you create and constantly tweak your character's designs on FH, you're bound to get familiarized with what height and weight ratios look best or where your preferred markings or ear selections are located.

Like Leogui ears! One of the few interesting lion ear types I can name off the top of my head, they're a pleasant medium between dragon and goblin ears and I use them for a few of my characters because of how perfectly spiky they are.

Still, as cool as they are, why are they in the game?

If this old forum post is anything to go by, apparently Leoguis were a custom species with some lore-heavy history. But that doesn't explain why Leogui ears exist ingame unless the species was created with the ears serving as name inspiration, which might be looking into as the Leogui creator was one of FH's old moderators and made the post not too long after FH's release to the public(?).

Possible evidence that the species came before the ears is that having 'Leogui' style ears was not necessary in the species guidelines:
Quote
--Ears: your choice.
Evidence against that being the case was that if the ears were made for the species, wouldn't the species creator have acknowledged them and updated the Leogui post? I can't really check for the former as I don't know how to filter through 30 pages of their posts to find what i'm looking for.

The creator isn't active anymore so I can't ask them, and I don't have any way of time-traveling back to that era of FH to find out for myself. Not that it matters, though, because none of that helps me figure out what exactly a real 'Leogui' would be.

My guess is that a 'Leogui' is either:

1.) Pretty-sounding gibberish

OR

2.) Some kind of animal. Other available ears for feline builds include 'Neko', 'Ghoul', and ears named after other real and mythological creatures, and since I've never heard of an animal called Leogui it wouldn't be a stretch to assume it's based off of the latter.

Either way, it's not like i'm losing sleep over this— I just thought it'd be neat if someone could clear things up or even share a theory of their own.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for reading!

Game Discussion / Re: Reimagining your first characters...
« on: August 26, 2018, 07:43:10 pm »
What was your first character?
A female spotted hyena with a tawny brown pelt and unrealistically dark markings. Her name was Drudge and I made her when I first joined the game sometime in 2015!

Do you still own/have this character?
As of today, yes! As boring as she eventually got, I can't find it in my heart to delete the first real FH character I've ever had.

If you do, have they changed at all? If you don't, where/what/who do you think they are now?
Yep. Less territorial, less misandric, and less of an overall pain in the butt to other characters. She's probably(?) still getting into fights at Bonfire Island, her old home, but I wouldn't know since I haven't played her in ages.

Why did you create this character? Was it on a whim of excitement to get started, or did you plan them out beforehand?
Her creation was on impulse. When I discovered that you could use markings to make different types of animals, I was thrilled and I created a character that was the species of my favorite animal at the time: A spotted hyena! I only ever planned on making her pick fights with other characters, and what little personality she had reflected that.

Who was this character? Did you develop any backstory or personality for them at all?
Drudge was a brash, hotheaded, territorial misandrist that regularly got into fights with other characters simply because I wanted to roleplay fights. Aside from getting her tail permanently burnt off and falling in love with a husky because it didn't attack her on sight, she never had any real character development! Not that my thirteen-year-old self cared.

Looking back, how do you feel about this character? Do you regret creating them, or do you wish to reinvent them?
I guess I'm grateful I don't cringe when I think about her character, but I've lost interest in Drudge completely. Still, I look back on Drudge-driven roleplays with fondness— I had a lot of fun laughing at her fails in fights, especially that one time when she broke her nose on a dragon's tough hide after trying to tackle it.

Introduction / New to the forum, not new to the game!
« on: August 26, 2018, 06:59:24 pm »
Hello everybody, what's up?

Like the title says I've been familiar with the game for quite some time now, having been playing around and making characters since 2015, but when I first joined this site I was way younger and way unfamiliar with forums of any type. Because of that, I just ignored the forums bc I figured it'd be a pain to learn.

Maaan, I really regret my decision as I'm getting the hang of this quicker than I thought I would!

By the way, does FH have an official Discord? I spend a lot of time on that app too and I figured it'd be a good way to connect with people even when not on the computer.  :)
