Hightmap issues
« on: August 01, 2011, 02:33:39 am »
OK so i have some GREAT new heightmaps i just made and cant wait to put them into a map. but there is a problem. whenever i put either of them in, they cause feral heart to just shut off without warning. the masks go in fine but the height map screws me. and whats so frustrating is that i have made bunches of successful ones before. there both 513x513 with a 72 pixles/inch resolution. anybody have any ideas on how to make these height maps work? I'm open to suggestions and will try anything reasonable.

Requirements:
513x513
Grayscale
Is now, and was always one layer

Things to try:
Switch the format to something else, then back.
Copy the image, close out the image so the image program is blank, and paste it in, then flatten it, and save it.
Switch it from Grayscale to RGB. then back to Grayscale.
