The Lazuli Pride
In an alternate dimension, in a heretofore undiscovered part of the world, there lies a strange place covered entirely in water. Within this flooded land, a special type of lion lives - adapted to life within and around water. These waterlions - the Lazuli - live in peace and harmony. Or so they did until, by chance, a young black lioness stumbled through a rip in the fabric of the universe that brought her to the land of Atalasia. This young lioness was named Nadaiya, and she was to turn the fate of the Lazulis.
Though it took a while for Nadaiya to gain the trust of the Lazuli, she eventually fell pregnant to the King of the Lazuli, Siraj. As a non-native lioness, she could not become queen, but nonetheless she held a special place in the hearts of the Lazuli - till she died giving birth to her son, Teke.
The young cub - the mix between a Lazuli and a lioness that never should have been - was taken in by the pride, though he was never to become Prince, due to his impure Lazuli blood.
This decision would come to haunt the pride later in the future...
The Rules
- Only Lazuli Lions will be freely accepted into the pride. Regular lions can join, but they will need to earn the trust of the Lazuli to join.
- You must be polite and respectful to everyone in the group - especially those of higher rank than you. This rule is especially important in OOC chat.
- There is to be no god-moding, power-playing or auto-attacking. Those who do this will be given 3 warnings, after which they may be kicked from the group.
- You are welcome to initiate fights with other members of the pride in game, however if the other person is uninterested in taking part, you must respect their wishes.
- There is a 2 sentence minimum post. Please nothing like, "she smiled" or "he laughed and said lol".
- Every pride member starts out at the most basic rank of their job - Guard, Hunter, Mage or Healer. Rank raises will be awarded as the RP progresses, if your character impresses the King.
- Most importantly, have fun! And don't be afraid to ask questions
The Lazuli Lion:The common Lazuli is semi-realistic, with a natural base coat and muted blue markings somewhere on the body. The rarest Lazuli are completely blue, though their markings must remain realistic too.
Pure Lazuli
never have bright neon colours.
All Lazuli have eyes ranging from the darkest shades of blue, to shades so pale they seem almost white.
Lazuli lions have some magic in them, though most don't do anything with their magic. Strong magics are essential for the 2 magic-using classes; the Mages and the Healers. The inborn abilities of Lazuli are amplified by the glowing blue crystals - hence why the healers and mages spend majority of their time within the Sacred Den.

Main Lazuli Rituals
|| The Greeting of the Sun ||
Every morning, at sunrise, the pride is expected to congregate on the ceremony rock. The King begins with the first roar, and the rest of the pride is to follow, roaring at the sun. This is an age old tradition done to symbolise the pride's readiness to face the day.
|| The Tournament of Champions ||
A competition held annually, where all the guards and hunters are pitted against each other in friendly combat. The combatants fight for prestige and to attract mates. The overall winner is respected through the tribe, no matter his/her rank.
|| The Blessing of the Water ||
The most important ceremony for the Lazuli, the blessing of the water is performed by the Head Mage or the Queen. Done under the light of the moon, the ceremony is held at the Sacred Den, and all pridemembers are expected to attend. The ceremony is done, in order to keep the water spirits happy and to keep away the storms and droughts.
