Map Maker Crashes

so, since FH doesn't like my connection in this computer; i decided to make maps! BUT everytime i put my terrain height map, the game crashes. why ? D: am i doing something wrong ?

Do you have the height maps in the correct folder? I'm clueless as to why it's crashing. FH is super hard on my computer and my height maps work fine. :I

Try taking it out of the folder you made and just keeping it in terrains. I usually have problems if files are in separate folders.

Hmmm...do you have terrain at the end of the file name? It won't work and may crash if you don't have that.

I dunno then D: Make sure there's no stray files anywhere that could be causing it to crash. You could try re-installing it. Just back up anything you want and wipe the whole game off. That should fix any problem. I've had to do it multiple times. -.-"

Did you make sure your image is grayscale, square, saved in .png-format and only has and always has had one layer? If not, that's the problem. Also, if all that requirements are made and your Map Maker still keeps crashing, it could also be that your computer can't handle your height map because it's too detailed.

i tried it with my dads brand new computer today, and it still crashes. so there's probably something wrong with my terrain and mask.. .___.' i wonder if i could show them to somebody ?

ED / oh and the terrain was grayscale, then saved it to png.
BUT after that i had to send it to my dads computer via tinypic, i hope the sending didn't ruin it. D:
