Downloaded objects are not appearing in map maker [SORTED]
« on: August 29, 2011, 07:57:40 pm »
Well, isn't this dandy?

I downloaded the tree and tropical plant packages from Hammys' thread and some cat-tails as well. But they aren't showing up in the map maker. What is with this? Did this change with the new system? Okay, whether it changed or not with the new system is obvious but now I'm asking:
HOW do you get objects that you downloaded from the site or wherever into the map maker?
before it was just "download and BAM! there they were..."
Now it's "download and...well nothing happens."

All of the downloaded objects I have but in the file: my_objects.
So, I would rather like a heads up.

How do I get objects I've downloaded into the Map Maker?

Create a new objectgroup for the objects

And then what? I've created an object group, what do I do after that?
I've tried typing in the mesh name in the said field and nothing has happened.

Alright, once you've downloaded your files and put them into my_objects, you open up Object Maker in Feralheart. Using the name of the .mesh file, you type it into where 1 is. So, if the mesh file was called "treehouse.mesh", you type that exactly in, including the '.mesh'.

In 2, the mesh might fill it in automatically, but if it doesnt you will also need to put the exact name of the material in here to colour it. So, if the material is called "treehouseMat", thats what you put.

After that, name it, then make a group for it according to the map you're making. If you were making a "Jazzy Forest" map, then the object group could be called "JazzyForestObjects", etc. You can put many objects into the same group.
