Presets and ready-made-markings?
« on: October 21, 2011, 03:25:05 pm »
Ok, so I'm trying to add the collar marking to a preset so I can make it a wolf. I am using pse 9 to do this. I opened the collar marking up from teh textures file, but when I copy it onto the other thing on a new layer, it blacks out most of it, and you can only see through the marking. How do I switch round the transparent and solid colour?  :(

First of all: I don't think it's allowed to use the markings from the game for presets.
But, anyway, you have to make a new layer on top of all the other ones. Then you copy and paste the collar onto that layer. At least that's the way I always do things like that.
Hope that helps :3

It's allowed, I've checked. No, I've done this, this is not my problem... My problem is that it comes out black and transparent. And the transparent part is the collar. I don't need this. I need it vice versa, but it opens like that, and I do not know how to fix it. D: It will not be fixed! I've tried everything, and it isn't working.  :'(

Oh, now I understand what you're talking about! ^^

Okay, you copy and paste it on a new layer which you add on top of all the others. Then you grab the Magic Tool and select the transparent area which forms the collar. But make sure the layer that the collar marking is on is selected. (I don't know if you call it 'Magic Tool', I just translated it into that because my Photoshop is German. ^^ Anyway, here's a screenie to show you which tool I mean:
)
Now that the 'boundarys' of the collar are marked, color them as you which. After that you grab the Magic Tool again, select the black areas, and erase them.

Hope this helps now :3
