Steam/Valve Games :U
« on: October 24, 2011, 03:20:05 pm »
I dunno if any of you have Steam accounts, or even know what Valve games are [Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead series, Portal series, and Half-Life are its most well known... Full list at bottom...] but decided to try out a topic for it anyway.

Steam is basically like XBOX Live only without the whole personal "avatar" person thing instead you get a profile you can set up and people can comment on, showing your screenshots and groups your in and games you own and such. That and it's free, and you can buy games on it as well, not just Valve games. Spore, Assassins Creed, Brink, Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc. It's just a gaming thing of sorts: store.steampowered.com/
[You can't add friends until you get games]
They also have random sales sometimes, during the summer they have insane sales in which every month(week?) they change the games they have for sale. For Christmas they do as well and sometimes they do sales just to have sales.
You don't have to worry about losing your games if something happens to your computer, either. As long as you have your account, you can re-download any of your purchased games you bought through that account.

Just seeing if anyone generally has a Steam account or plays Valve games. :3
I personally play Team Fortress 2 a lot and Left 4 Dead 2, but L4D2 ha been lagging a lot lately ... So mainly TF2 <3 Snipey and Scout!

If you want to add me on Steam just send me a PM. |D

Valve Games:
Half-Life, Team Fortress Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Deathmatch Classic, Ricochet, Counter-Strike, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Day of Defeat, Counter-Strike: Condition, Half-Life: Source, Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, Day of Defeat: Source, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast Mac, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Swarm, Portal 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

All updates take a while for any game after you download them, Steam itself does take a while to download but if it has updates and I don't feel like messing with them I pause the download and go on with playing my games. Steam can be a little janky but hey, it's free unlike XBOX Live.

My internet takes like... 8 hours to download a game itself. Updates aren't as bad. Game downoads take like 30 minutes minimum at my dad's. xD

Honestly I didn't want to at first either.

AAAAHHH, STEAM.
Portal has been the only reason I haven't been bored, really. XD
I was quite impressed by the coding and technical whatnot; especially how they averted the "Portal Cut." (Portal Cut is what happens when a portal closes before you get through and you get sliced.)
Lol, TF2 seems really fun as well. Amnesia gave me frights for a whole week, thanks to those things with their flappy jaws and those other things with those....UGGGUGUGUGUGUHHHH. This is why I don't have Amnesia, I simply watched playthroughs of it. XD

Well TF2 is free to play now, and the new halloween event is great. A giant eyeball comes outta no where in one map and shoots rockets at you of sorts. So you go from shooting others to shooting this huge eyeball monster. I always play with friends, trying to get teh Van Hellsing set for my Sniper <3

Portal was fun. xD Sadly I only have Portal 2 on XBOX 360. I only played through Portal once, then played the other games I had, since I'm more for multiplayer games on the computer.

I own Amnesia but I heard a monster groan and was like "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE" and closed out, haven't touched it sense. What makes me nervous the most is that Daniel is hyperventolating as much as I am.

I also love how the random voices you hear are actually coming from yourself. xD I kept looking around wondering who the heck was talking, turns out Daniel was talking and grumbling to himself and cursing people under his breath like a psychopath.

Also also: TF2 event is still great. 'Been shooting a giant eyeball then getting sucked into the underworld. xD

Oh ho yes yes. Fishy keelz. Tf2 so much tf2.

Snipey forevers.

I love all of Steam and their Valvey games. Though Steam can be a jerk as in... Here let me freeze as you start up a game... Or fail to pull up the Community page as you try to add a friend for 20 minutes.
Either way. Team Fortress 2 and fishy kills and headshots and arm kills, too much fun. Too addicting. <3
