Map Maker(Portals)

Ok, Sooooo...
I need help.!
I am making a very amazing map. And I dont quite know how to get dem portals in there quite where i want them. >.<
Im not indecisive or anything. O.O
I just cant, dont know how. Heres what I do, I go to map maker, load my map, and then I click on Objects. I put my curser where I want my portal and type in the yaw and everything, but usually, its too long to fit so I just type in the number BEFORE the period...And so
And so when I do that, I click new portal and place it... And I thought that that was all I needed to do, but when i exported the map and everyhting, i popped up in the corner of the map with no way to get back to The Cape Of Distant Worlds. And When I located my portal that i placed, i tried to go through it and it said,
Map File Cannot Be Found !
And I cried....
Jk...
O.o
Well, I need a tutorial of something, or just someone explaining to me how to do it..
Something a noob could understand..
:D

Sounds like you are trying to use a Gate and not a Portal.  The difference is that gate link maps.  Portals are the way to cape.  To make a Portal click the "MAP" tab and check the box "HAS PORTAL" and the XYZ and boxes should appear.  After that Just enter the coordinated for where you want the portal to be.

Hope this helps.
When the path ends, keep going forward and make a new trail.
