Unable to connect using Uni Accom. internet?

Alright; so I'm new to the game. A friend who has been playing for years had invited me to play it with her, since we're both avid RPers and we love this sort of thing.

Problem is... it doesn't seem to be able to work with my University Accommodation's internet? Unlike my friend, I'm living in Halls, so she doesn't get the same problem. It's not that the Uni. Accom. would block it, because the internet is so unrestricted. So I know it's Feral-heart just not agreeing with me.

When registering, it didn't let me either, so I had to get my friend to register for me. IP issues, and such. Is it just that FH just disallows people living in uni accommodation to play? Is there a particular reason for this? I'd sort of really like to play guys xD.

If there's a simple solution like unblocking the IP the accomm. is using, then that would be lovely. Thank you. But otherwise, really, am I just going to have to not play? Not exactly happy about that XD.

I do believe there some restrictions of who that are allowed to register on this site yes, some addresses has been black listed on auto, and I'm not quite sure how it works, but it's possibly SMF that has their own database of which ones it wants to block out, if it's a bigger public network chances are someone have been up to no good on that connection before. If anyone knows how to remove a restriction though it would be raz.

However, since you already got an account here made by someone else, I do not think the game has got any sort of IP blocking cept the actual "bans" that are given to those who break the rules. Maybe I'm wrong though?

In which ways are you not able to connect to the game? "Failed to connect to front server"? or.. It would be helpful if you could tell in which way or manner you are not able to join since you have the account already.

Aha, yes, it's Failed to connect to front server. Sorry, I did intend to explain that but I must have gotten distracted xD.

My friend made the account on her laptop, and I'm able to log into it here for the forum - so that bit isn't a problem. I can log into my account at hers - I've got a character on mine now. But, as I say, soon as I use it here at my uni room, it won't connect. I just assume it's IP-related, because I got an error about IPs when registering.

She's in private housing, so obviously she wouldn't get blocked by it xD. Sorry, I'm just pretty eager to play.

When you played at "hers" you still used your computer? The one you try to use at uni right now.

Before you ask, yes, I did look through all the help guides and such, stopping the firewall/making sure my anti-virus was not interfering, so on.

If there's an exception added to the firewall, and no security software blocking it out, all I can possibly think about is that the connection is not solid enough or that the given router must open a few ports that FH use. And which they use, and how you'd be able to change this since you need the admin login for most routers will be really tricky.

Maybe something else might be the answer though, at this moment I'm not too sure how to solve it.

As connection goes; this uni internet is stunningly good. Never ever had a problem with connection or with bandwidth or anything like that. It's probably why I'm so perplexed; FH is the only thing that's not agreed with it so far. As for the router, obviously since the uni wouldn't let students tamper with it, there isn't anything I can do about that.

I'm almost 100% sure it's something to do with FH not allowing this sort of IP. To which I'd assume might be able to be unblocked, but if not then I guess there isn't really anything that can be done xD.

(There's always other games, and next year when I'm in private housing, I guess).
