I'm not sure which is better or worse- losing your paws to frostbite or falling into a volcano.
Ember fell into a volcano. XD She and her comrades thought she's be dead, but a few minutes later something fiery zipped out of the volcano like a comet. Turns out it was Ember, the Wolf of Fire.
And you know how the story says to NEVER lie as a student? They mean it for your character's life. If you lie just to get the element you want, then if you ever become a junior, then it'll really sting to start becoming that element. Your character will be through a lot of pain.
And if your Mentor decides that it's time for YOUR CHARACTER to become the Mentor, you'll have to take the Change of Destiny and almost completely become your element, like what Ember and Shard did.
However, if you lied from the beginning, it is... most likely you will die instead of advance. 0.o
Bad for the Mentor, the character itself and the whole clan. The Mentor will have no one to take their place in time (I WON'T TELL THE SECRET), the character will be dead and the whole clan will have to suffer the death of a member.
All in all, DON'T LIE!
