((xD))
Not a sound came from Dusk, though his eyes rested on the feline as she explained Mother's actions. He also caught her look in Xander's direction, and he looked that way as well, but pity or sorrow failed to show within his eyes. But neither did hate or anger, an impassive mask had settled over his visage with thoughts and emotions now refusing to show themselves. Only a hard glint in the storm irises showed he was still displeased.
Shifting his gaze away, ears perked forward as Thirteen continued her statement. "In order for a dying soul to heal," he finally spoke, though his voice was an ominous whisper, "the bearer of the soul has to be willing to leave the past behind and look to the future. Otherwise they are forever chained in their own darkness."
A shifting beside him alerted Dusk that his sister was moving. Quickly glancing down at her, he saw that her eyes had opened and she was trying to get up.
Ugh... How long was I out? Karma constantly blinked to clear her vision. Everything was foggy, and there was a buzzing sound inside her head. She tried shaking her head to clear it but a sharp pain from her shoulder caused a pained gasp to release from her maw. Gritting her teeth, she held still for a moment, giving the impression she had passed out again. But Karma was calming herself, trying to focus her mind so to recall the last events. Finally it all came back to her, and her eyes snapped open.
Dusk was beside her, asking if she was alright. Not answering right away, she scanned the area for everyone, Vanth and Lorcan were by the cave entrance with Thirteen there, Lorcan looked just as badly beaten and Vanth was just getting up. The others must have been outside the cave, though when she looked around inside again her eyes rested on Xander. He looked traumatized, he was hardly moving but it seemed he had returned to himself and was not hurt. What had happened?
With a soft grunt, she tried lifting herself from the floor again. Another sharp jab came from her shoulder once more and she stumbled. A shifting of leaves told Karma she had been bandaged, by Dusk no doubt. Gritting her teeth she tried again, and at last managed to get on all fours. Well, three of them...
There was hardly any feeling to her left leg where the shoulder wound was. She couldn't place it down for the added pressure added an explosion of color across her vision. Closing her eyes, Karma determined the amount of damage it was in. No, it wasn't completely useless. It will be for some time, but the damaged nerves had to heal and the shoulder wound had to close.
"I-I'm alright," Karma reassured her brother, though a dizzy sensation settled on her. Lowering onto her haunches, she kept her eyes closed while steadying her breathing.
