It was like trying to swim across water, just like a sea or a lake it was unpredictable. The water could look as calm and inviting in one second then thrashing and merciless in the next. It seemed the only way to describe the demon wolf before him, with a few words he had managed to change her princess-like demeanor into a monstrous one. Though he hadn't expected to do so, at least so quickly, and it took some effort to hide the surprise flashing across his eyes. Remaining as calm and still as he had been, he kept his maw shut this time as Kali spoke, the words almost drilling through his skull to be implanted into his brain.
Only when she finally left did he let out a low gust of wind in relief, the tension lowering like after a storm. You've done it now, Cyris, he sighed inwardly. You've made an enemy. So much for taking the easy way out. It was disappointing, but only for a second. Though Cyris wasn't one to try and maintain a high position, it rather irked him to see other's think they've earned and already considered themselves one when they had yet to show their worth. Xander had been the Beta of the pack and Kali swooned over to him, and now Zero held the rank and it only seemed to be a repeat.
It's an interesting game you play, Kali, he thought to himself now. I do not know if you simply enjoy the males company or it's just so you could get yourself closer to the top. I was able to tolerate it the last time, but to me the best thing to have happened was when Xander fell from the pack and you were no longer in charge. Cyris lowered his form closer to the ground, resting in the shade with crimson eyes gleaming mysteriously. I'm afraid your fun will end soon, thankfully Zero isn't as easily persuaded as Xander was, and hopefully it'll remain so. But you have included me into your game now, and I plan to win. You think me as an Omega, and therefore I'll take advantage of that for what could an Omega do? By the end I hope to have yourself lowered in the ranks, or maybe even gone all together...

"I miss Mother..."
Karma peeked an eye open and glanced to Thirteen. The feline rather intrigued her, it was like she had no problem stating what she felt or showing it. She just felt however she felt, and that was all there was to it. Feisty and wise in one moment, friendly and upset in the next. Karma couldn't help but smile, though quickly hid it in case Thirteen took it the wrong way.
"What's Mother like?" She found herself asking. The word stumbled slightly on her tongue, it was obvious she wasn't used to using the word "mother", and there seemed to be a deeper curiosity behind her words, maybe even a wish to really know.
