Ragnar only smiled his crooked grin, then backed out of the clearing and into the trees. Perhaps she couldn't hunt, but he could. He took a taste of the air, looking for something that could satisfy the hunger of a young teen lion. He caught the scent of a doe, and padded forward silently, looking for it with his specialized night eyes. He spotted it easily, and he lowered himself to the ground, his light brown pelt easily blending in with the bark of the trees. He crawled forward, barely a sound coming from him. Then he struck.
The doe felt the wind being knocked out of her as a large, powerful paw bashed into her side, sending her flying. She landed with a loud crack, and then Ragnar was on top of her. Before the doe knew what was happening, she was dead. Proudly, the Beast grabbed his prey by it's throat and dragged it easily back to the hollow tree that Anock had told him about.
He was very curious of her. She had been acting so hostile... and then she invited him to stay with her. Did she like him more than she let on? He let these questions run through his mind as he dropped the doe before her and murmured, "A housewarming gift." He then settled down beside her, though not very easily, for he was way bigger than she was. He tried his best not to touch her in any way. He'd rather not get some scars tonight.
