I'm not sure in which way you mean black.
But if it's black as in when you go into a map, make sure you choose reset home, and then go home in order to end up in a map you have.
If not that, you should try installing the version of the game you have on another location as C:\FeralHeart, especially if you run the plus version of the game.
And if not black in any of those two, and the ground is black only, go into the options menu and change rendering mode to the one you do not have marked and restart the game for the changes to take effect.
