Lag and render issues?

For some reason today every time I try to play, textures and rendering fail completely, leaving everything from landscapes to character models to even the logo blurry. Also I'm lagging so bad there are times everything will literally freeze around me. I've never had this problem before...is it just me? Is it fixable?

I tried helping someone with a similar problem and the fix was to change your rendering system under the options tab.

I tried that, and it helps a little, but it's still not fully rendered like it should be.

Did you try adjusting your anti-aliasing?

Direct X may not be working properly, try downloading and updating it.
It may also be your graphics drivers, visit the website of your graphics card distributors and check you have the newest drivers set.
Also check your motherboard drivers.
