Dogs of the Great Mountains
"In the cold breeze that I walk along
The memories of generations burn within me
Been forever since I cried the pain and sorrow
I live and die, proud of my people gaining
I'm here standing on the edge, staring up at where the moon should be
Stray!
No regrets 'cause I've got nothing to lose."
Dogs of the Great Mountains is a group made up of dogs that can survive the cold, harsh environments of Nokana Idya, such as Siberian Huskies, German Shepherds, Akitas, Alaskan Malamutes, Saint Bernards, Great Pyrenees dogs, Norwegian Elkhounds, Samoyeds, Collies, Border Collies, Borzoi dogs, Karelian Bear Dogs, and Bouvier des Flandre dogs. It is almost always snowing there, except it will sometimes quit snowing in late spring or late summer. Though no one knows when the snow will stop, so it's unpredictable to tell when the snow will stop. Sometimes, it may stop abruptly without telling or knowing. But no one in the pack knows when it will stop. Food is good to find, if you can get enough prey to find and eat without having to find the prey in snow, which is hard to see because most of the animals, including rabbits, hide with camouflage. Will your dog survive the harsh elements?
Plot
It is early winter, and prey is slowly getting scarce and are traveling to warmer climates to find food, a new home, or for a mate. The prey supply is slowly getting lower, and most of the rivers are getting frozen which also decreases water. For food and water, the dogs must kill as many edible animals as they can before the last deer or rabbit leaves the area until spring, and for water, the dogs will be bringing in icicles and any other source of water as they can find.
Current Plot
None, when we have enough members, we will start role-playing. :3
Maps
Great Mountains
The Great Mountains is the original homeland of the Dogs. It has a den, where most of the dogs will eat, sleep, and spend time together. There is also a tunnel in the Great Mountains that leads to Frozen Pass, an underground tunnel that was dug by wolves, coyotes, and foxes hundreds of years ago. It is mostly very snowy and covered in snow. No one can predict when the snow will stop, though.

Frozen Pass
Frozen Pass is a giant underground cave that was dug by coyotes, foxes, and wolves. The Dogs have decided to live there ever since they had formed their pack. There are a lot of spaces in the Frozen Pass for the dogs to live in. Sometimes, if a certain part of the area is not used enough, the leader will announce a new rank for the dogs and when the dogs are that rank, the leader will take them to the unused area. Or if the leader doesn't decide to get a new rank, he will use the area for prey.

Also feel free to PM me some ideas for new maps for the group!
Percentage on the maps
Great Mountains - 0%
Frozen Pass - 0%

History
The history on the areas are easy to figure out, but no dog, or any other animal knows when the first Dog pack originated in Nokana Idya. The history on the Frozen Pass was very easy to find out. Hundreds of coyotes, foxes, and wolves had joined together to dig it, and were successful. Most animals don't know what had happened to them. Also, for the crystals in the ceilings, some believe that they were used as lights, which is what the Dogs use for light, also.
Ceremonies
Hunting Day - Hunting Day is the day of hunting for the warriors and hunters. The ceremony begins at early dawn, when the sun is slowly beginning to rise, or when the moon is still out. When the dogs wake up, the leader will announce the beginning of Hunting Day, and the warriors and hunters will arrive from their dens. When they are ordered to go find prey, the warriors and hunters take off, looking for deer or anything else they can find. However, if they decide to steal something from the farm, they must not hunt the dogs on the farm, since the dogs, and the warriors and hunters are not cannibals. They will have to  try and steal the prey from the farm dogs that guard the farm. Most hunts will usually take a few minutes or hours. When they are back with the prey, the whole pack celebrates and congratulates them.
Congratulation Day - Congratulation Day is the day when a pup reaches two years old, and is ready to do their jobs without the help of a mentor.
Birthing of a New One - Birthing of a New One is a celebration with a female dog and her litter of pups. When her litter has arrived, the pack celebrates in cheering and congratulating the mother. Also, the Spiriti dogs, the spiritual and wise dogs, carve the pup's names onto a stone wall or onto wood in honor of them.
Wedding - The Weddings are when two dogs of the pack become mates. When the ceremony is ready, all the dogs will gather up on a ledge or rock to watch the marriage. When they become mates from the word of the leader and Spiriti, the mates nuzzle each other, and the dogs cheer. Most of the time, weddings can be held in the Frozen Pass, or outside at any time of day, unless the mates wish to hold it at a special time. The mates then move to an area far away from the pack to mate.
Move - The Move ceremony is simply a ceremony when the dogs of the Great Mountains area move to another area of Nokana Idya. Everyone in the pack brings their items that they need for the journey. Most of the time, if they're planning to move to a cooler area of Nokana Idya, they have to cross many areas to get to the cooler or warmer area. When they reach that area, they will look for dens and other areas where they can shelter in until their original home, Great Mountains and Frozen Pass is warmer. They can tell when Great Mountains is getting cooler or warmer by watching the sky for snow. They then will move back to their old home.

Ranks
Leaders - The leaders of the pack. Most of the time, there can be two leaders that are mates, sometimes.
Heirs - The heirs of the pack are the offspring of the pack leaders. When the leaders pass away, the heirs will take their place.
Deputy - The deputy is basically the second-in-command boss. He or she tells the pack members to do their job right if they are not. If something happens to the leaders or heirs, such as they passed away from an illness or something, they take their place.
Spiriti - The Spiriti are old and wise dogs. They are known for wisdom, and they can sometimes predict the future. Sometimes, if wanted or needed, they can tell stories to the pups.
Warriors - The warriors are the strong, fast, swift, and silent dogs. They are used for battle against other packs or groups. When not fighting, they are most likely spending time with the other members of the pack, or helping the hunters hunt for food.
Hunters - The hunters of the pack hunt the animals from the farm or from their original location.
Scouts - The scouts are the swift and fast dogs. They go mark the territory and watch the territory for intruders. They can also be used for hunts to tell the warriors and hunters what to get.
Healers - The healers of the pack gather up herbs and other items to use for healing, in case of an injury. They are mostly very smart with their plants.
Mentors - Mentors are adult dogs that train the pups when they are at least twelve weeks old.
Twelve-Weeks - Twelve weeks are twelve week old pups that get to train with their mentors.
Pups - The pups are under twelve week olds. When they are twelve weeks old, they train with their mentor.
Elders - Elders are old dogs of the pack. They mostly have some health issues, but enjoy telling stories of the past.

Healer's Notes
Note One -
Illnesses, Diseases, Broken Bones, etc.
Hip dysplasia
Hip dysplasia is when the hips are hurt from something, or from old age. The symptoms are usually the dog putting it's hind legs close together to stay up, and some problems walking, and limping. This can usually be healed with poppy seeds.
Eye problems
Eye problems can usually be blindness or pink eye, which are the most common. There are other eye problems, but most are unknown and uncommon in the area. Pink eye is when the eye is irritated and itchy. Poppy seeds, honey suckles, and leaves from a grass shrub must be eaten to cure this disease.
Blindness, cannot be healed, however.

Broken Bones
Broken bones can be earned by getting hurt in battle, jumping from a high space to get to land (not suicide) or by roughhousing. They can be healed with poppy seeds and honey suckles, goldenrod plants, and physical activity once the dog can stand up.
Note Two -
Herbs for Healing
Poppy seeds
Poppy seeds are used for pain, such as hip dysplasia, pink eye, or broken bones.
Cobwebs
Cobwebs are mostly abandoned spiderwebs. They are used for open wounds.
Catmint
Catmint is a type of blue flower. It is sometimes known as catnip. A dog can be drawn to it's scent sometimes, and can make the most nervous or angry dog calm down.
Goldenrod
Goldenrod plants can be used for broken bones, like poppy seeds do. They mostly appear to be yellow-colored.
Root tubes
Root tubes are used for pains, and sometimes something to chew on.
Grass Shrub Leaves
Grass shrub leaves are used for pink eye diseases, though they can taste quite foul sometimes. Eating a honey suckle blossom after eating grass shrub leaves can make it taste sweeter.
Honey suckles
Honey suckles are blossoms found on shrubs. They are mostly white and yellow. Their nectar tastes sweet, and is mostly eaten after eating a foul-tasting plant for medicine. Sometimes, if the patient is a young dog, such as a pup, the Healer can give them honey suckles as a reward for being good.

Rules
The OOC rules and the role-playing rules
OOC Rules:
1. Fighting in role-play is fine, but no out of RP fighting or hatred. Can't we all just be friends here?
2. You must be active, but if you are not active for at least 3 weeks, you will be kicked out.
3. No god-modding, power-playing, Mary/Gary Suing, powers, or anything unrealistic. Since when can Siberian Huskies climb a tree? But you can make your eye colors realistic. If you want an Akita with blue eyes, go crazy.
3. I want to see realistic pelt colors and markings. I don't want to see a neon green Saint Bernard with pink cheetah markings.
4. No wings are allowed. Sorry, but the role-play is realistic.
5. Presets are allowed as long as they are realistic.
6. Put cake somewhere in your application so I know you have read the rules.
7. No abusing the actions.
8. We usually role-play on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, though unofficial RPs are allowed.

IC Rules:
1. You must be a dog that can be okay in warm, cool, or cold environments, or one of the dogs that I have mentioned in the first post.
2. You must be as literate as possible, at least 3 or 4 sentences long.
3. No text talk.
4. Try to make your dog look as realistic as you can.
5. No abusing the actions.

Will try and think of some more rules later

Mikah is a very strong and independent dog. He loves his pack very much and would do anything for them, though he has no mate yet. He doesn't mind that he doesn't have a mate. He is loyal, affectionate, and would almost never let you down. He is smart and kind, and takes great pleasure in holding ceremonies. He also loves dog pups, and will sometimes play with them.

Dead-Other Unknown
Pandora is very kind. She will do anything to help her friends, or just have fun! She rarely breaks the rules, and when
she does, it's not her fault. The only time she will is when someone is in trouble and she has to. She only is hateful
when people are mean to her.  She will not take any hatefulness from the dogs! She is very good at fighting and is rarely beaten. When she gets angry, catnip will calm her down.

Trisha is sweet and caring. She loves the dogs of her pack, and will do almost anything for them. Though she is young, she is a very good healer, and knows her herbs well. She follows the leader's laws very well. She is also very nice to dogs in her pack, but she is not so affectionate towards strangers unless the leader says that they're friends. She has a very loud and high-pitched bark, which can startle some dogs near her easily. However, she doesn't like it when she is called a mutt when someone first sees her Doberman Pinscher/Miniature Pinscher colors, though she is a purebred long-haired dachshund.

Moon is a very shy, but playful pup, she loves to run and just have fun. One of her favorite things to do is to, look up at the sky at night, and wonder what the bright dots are. She is amazed by them. Even though Moon is a small young pup, she can be very wise for her age. One thing you must know about her, is that she has trust issues. She only trust wolves who show her that they will not hurt her.

These sites and videos are for the list of dogs that are allowed in the RP, and what they look like, and such. If needed, if you already know about the Saint Bernard, Border Collie, etc., and you don't know about the other breeds, such as the Borzoi, I will get rid of the "I-know-what-this-dog-is" links and videos.
