BaseWhite Blues...
« on: March 07, 2012, 03:12:51 am »
I have tried loading various object mesh files into the object maker,
there appears to be nothing wrong with the material file,
the texture files are all there,
yet sometimes, the object shows up in a white texture, with the .material slot reading "BaseWhite".

Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just somehow blind? I may wear glasses, and I've got good connections w/ a computer science major who can't find anything obviously wrong with the .mat files (but he's got other things to do).

Has anyone actually solved this problem?

Yes, and I still cannot find the information I'm looking for... I already follow these steps, I just need to know what I've done wrong. Either that, or it's right in front of me on the page and the black-and-yellow page/font theme is blinding me! >.<

Open up the material file of the object, if it has more then one layer then ull have to add this layer to each layer on game as well.

It should read like   material  (your mesh name)Mat

That is what goes into the material file name on object maker, if it comes up base white erase that type in correct name of material name and click update.

What do you mean by "layers?" a line of the coding?
Namely, I've been trying to set up your Tardis model (which, by the way, THANK YOU!! my bf and I squeed when we first saw it!!), and only the top panel (the one that reads "Police Box") shows in its correct texture.

Yes that one was tricky for me to put together, but i did provide the object file that will do it all for you ^^ Ill explain:

When you download My Mesh For the Tardis itll come with a File called   HanzoConvertedMeshs.Objectfile

If You place that into your    C:/FeralHeart/media/objects   folder and restart game, on object maker you will see a group now called   HanzoConvertedMeshs

There you will find the Tardis and it should be all textured fine for you :)

Well...almost. It shows up in-game but as soon as I click "Add New" for a map, it crashes the game. I think I may have seen somewhere in the forums someone having the same problem??

Is it specifically for my object? i havent heard anyone having problems with it. Perhaps Re try it again, and see how it works with other objects, Im not quiet sure what could be causing this. I have one idea, it could be that i never included the glow mat etc. Mainly since most ppl have it already, but i will add it to the download. If you wanna redownload the Tardis and re add it to your my objects and then test it :)

Yeah it was also saying that it didn't have the glow mat. Thanks for the link including the glow mat--just tried it out and now it's got some sort of collision field around the light at the top...but it's still blank white.
