Welcome !

The shrill howl of a wolf rings violently through the air, disturbing the rare peace only brought about by the gentle sheets of night rain that currently bathed the earth. Indistinct footfalls behind the nearby vegetation are caught by sharpened senses, the soft clicking of sharp claws on the slick dirt path becoming clearer as the creature approached. A nearby bush shakes, parting to reveal a white wolf. Bright, intelligent, amber eyes shine confidently from the centre of the delicate arrangement of facial features. Her expression was what could only be described as a dutiful interest, a repetitive job that was becoming tiring. A gentle, honest smile appears briefly across her muzzle despite the apparent eternal repition of the task; though long hardships had long since erased all basic joviality from the wolf, the happiness of sending invite had not yet faded. Her mouth opens, revealing sharp canines yet hardly intending them.


"I am called Kaive, the leader of the Junemarow pack, a pack for wolves where no human has ever interfered. It is clear that you are currently a loner and without home; to you I extend my offer, as I do to all of pure wolf bloodlines. However, it is your choice to make; I won't force a decision, and rest assured that no one else would do so. Are you destined to follow me to the isolated land of canines? Or, rather, is it your preference to live alone? Will you come with me to Junemarow, or will you do otherwise and remain a wanderer? Choose quickly, for it would not be wise to linger here."

The words hang in midair for a brief moment, soon washed away by the pitter-patter of the rain. The wolf, Kaive, glances at the rapidly brightening sky, blinking away water from the receding rain. She smiles apologetically and disappears swiftly into the vegetation from whence she'd come, the land of Junemarow. If the choice was to follow then movement had to be quick, before all chance of entering the strange and mysterious land of Junemarow was lost.

Plot !

No plot is present. For now. Once we gain members and have witnessed our first roleplay, I will put something here. Plot suggestions are welcome

Rules !

General

? Swearing is only allowed in an inoffensive and non-sexual way, and I hope you will keep it to a minimum. Don't use swearing unless the other role-player in okay with it. Posts with excessive bad language will not be tolerated. Please keep in mind that many people start role-playing as young as 10 years old, and Faded is meant to be friendly for all ages. Swearing at someone OOC is prohibited.

? Please use proper capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and grammar in your posts. Don't use MSN/AIM/Text-talk short-forms.

? Powers and magical abilities are not allowed.

? All levels of roleplay are welcome. Got a problem with it? PM me.

? Wolves cannot be killed without their players permission.

? Power-play, God-mod, Auto-hit, Mary-sue, Gary-sue ect is not tolerated. You will get removed.

Pack

? The alphas are the boss of the pack; they can exile a wolf from the pack or attack the wolf when they are on their territory.

? Please respect pack borders. To show respect, make it clear that your wolf is outside pack borders. Trespassers will be warned, and may be driven out by existing pack members. Although powerplaying or godmodding are not allowed, an outnumbered intruder will realistically be hurt in the process.

Mates

? Mates are permanent, in the sense that wolves do not 'divorce'.

? You do not have to ask for your alphas' permission to have a mate.

? Wolves who are mates must have the same rank.

? Wolves who have bred/mated to an animal other than the species 'wolf', said wolf and their mate will be exiled/executed/ect upon severity.

Breeding / Birthing

? No graphical/long breeding and no sexual content of any kind is allowed. While I can't make the role-play completely PG, we need to keep it as close as possible.

? Breeding is allowed during any season. Your wolf doesn't need permission from the alpha to breed.

? You and your mate can decide how many pups you will have and their stats. You will have to find role-players willing to take the roles of your pups before they are born.

Hunting

? You can only hunt at Prey Plateau.

? Read the Hunting and Prey-playing procedure before hunting.

Challenges

? Offical challenges should be fought at Quarrels Clearing, but impromptu fights can happen anywhere.

? No power-playing, god-modding, ect. Power-playing is when you post what happens to your opponent and saying where they got hurt. The trick is to post what could happen to the opponent if their wolf doesn't dodge fast enough (or something), but make it clear that it might not happen. The resulting injury depends on what the other player posts in roleplay. God-modding is making your character all-powerfull and not taking any hits at all, or basically 'playing god' and being invincible. This is not allowed.

? Read the Fighting and Challenging procedures before challenging a wolf.

Ages

? Only three standard ages are accepted; pup, teen, and adult.

? If you want to age your wolf, make it sure it has been at least a month since you joined or the last time you aged.

? Wolves aren't required to die of old age.

Hunting and Prey-Playing !


Hunting
? When you start a hunt, you may state the animal you smell, see or the one you're  after, but nothing else.

? If you have arranged for someone to play your prey, you might want to include and OOC note to avoid conflict.

Prey-playing

? Anyone can play prey for any hunt, as long as it's not for your own character. If you have spare time and see someone in need of prey, feel free to play an animal for them to hunt.

? Try to play the prey as realistically as possible and don't always let the wolf get the meal all the time. The hunt is a contest between the prey-player and the player of the wolf. If they fail the first time, they can definitely keep trying.

? The prey can injure the wolf.

? Prey can be anything ranging from mice, to snakes, to rabbits, to birds, fish, boar, deer, goats, and anything you can think of, as long as wolves have a chance of bringing them down. No bears, cougars, lions, tigers ect. please!

? Prey for lone wolves can't be bigger than a fawn/calf/kid/ect.

? You decide when the prey is dead or finished.

? When you play the prey in pack hunts, try to keep all the posts in mind. Make a note to mention

Fighting and Challenging !

Fighting

? Fighting is only allowed at Quarrels Clearing.

? No powerplaying, godmoding, etc. Fair fights only.

? Each player has up to two posts for attacks and an extra one for the last person to say what damage is done.

? At most, two attacks per post. You can choose to do less.

? Each wolf has access to the use of one full dodge, and two half dodges.

? One full hit must be taken during the fight.

Challenging

? Try to post your challenge where the wolf will be most likely to see it. The best place is probably their pack, if they're in one, but make sure you don't cross the pack borders if you're not a member (make it clear in your post where your wolf stands).

? If a wolf doesn't reply to the challenge (accept or decline), the challenger wins by default.

? Challenging for a pack (alpha position) is allowed, but you must challenge and win twice in a row to gain leadership of the pack. This rule does not apply to challenges for other ranks. If there are two alphas, you only to fight each of them once, but you have to win both times.

?  An alpha cannot, but can, refuse a challenge. If they are unable to fight themselves (pregnancy, hiatus, lack of skill, pacifism, etc.), they must have a pack member fight for them. However, they can punish the challenger by exile/ect.

?  You must wait two weeks before challenging the same wolf again.

Alpha
The alphas are responsible to guide their pack through hardships and ensure the survival of it. They have the power to exile, execute (although they probably wouldn't do that), have pups, and so on. Otherwise, respect is demanded wherever they go, even if it is not wanted by said alpha(s).

Personality ||  In general, Kaive is very loyal and feels the pull of responsibility, both to Junemarow and her friends. While she's kind and usually lenient, she has learned to steel her heart when necessary, especially when the battle with the Beasts come up. Surprisingly, she has never killed before - with the exception of hunts - but hopes to kill soon.
History || Her history is only to be revealed to a few hand-selected wolves that can be trusted.

Alpha Pups:

Beta
Kind-of like a second in command, but they don't really take a share in the pack. They are usually stuck babysitting pups and whatnot. They only have some ability; to have pups, to execute, ect. Respect is not necessary but is appreciated. If an alpha is sick/not able to take control, a Beta will fill in their spot but will not be mate to any alpha male/female and will not bear pups.

Gamma
Mainly just a gaurdian or protector and things related  to that. They make sure borders are fully marked and have not been trespassed on, ect. They do not have power but only to bear pups. Respect is not needed.

Like a rule-enforcer, except less strict than an alpha. They watch over the pack when an alpha/beta/gamma/ect is not present and make sure everyone is following pack/ect rules. Respect is not needed but when enforcing a rule it is.

History || Akila used to be a "daddy's girl" and very innocent, never wanting anything more than to help others and follow in her father's paws as the head medic. These feelings changed when her clan was wiped out by hunters and she saw her father. She called for him but he ran in a different direction. She has since held a grudge against him and her old clan who hadn't listened to her when she begged them to listen to the scout reporting on humans nearby.

Epsilon
An epsilon is a warrior. It is like a gamma, but hangs back in the camp and is only needed in war. They can spend a day doing anything, since most of the time they do not have to go to war or train. Respect is not needed, but in war it's necessary.

Zeta
A zeta is a hunter. It provides food for the clan, and the food is stored in one of the many dens located in the pack territory, usually buried by undergrowth. There is never enough food, so many are found hunting or training. Respect is not needed.

Iota
Again, an Iota is like a Gamma, but it checks borders more frequently. They are scouts and spies, a double-duty rank. They will check borders, and sometimes overpass them to spy on other packs, but only with alpha's permission.

Omega
This is the 'starting' rank, in which the alpha(s) place all wolves new to the pack. They must work their way up the ranks. If an omega has proven him/herself worthy of being a higher rank, the omega must challenge a higher rank and win. The looser will be demoted to an omega and the winner will take the rank of the previous looser. However, omegas cannot challenge an alpha. Otherwise, omegas do all the unpleasant jobs in the pack; they handle rotted fresh-kill, clean the dens, get food for others, and so on. Omegas can breed and have pups, but the pups will remain a 'servant' until they are old enough to challenge.

Finding the young not there anymore when he came around, he ran to the outside of the gunfire and caught up with his sister who told him about their father, Obi, abandoning her. He highly doubted this but, of course, he would never say such a thing to her face so he just nodded along and followed her to this pack, joining because she did.
