Little Things for New Players

This is just a quick lttle idea I've thought of that might be helpful to new people. ^^

Okay, so while I love the idea of Lonely Cave being the first place a new character goes (as opposed to Bonfire) I think it can still be quite intimidating for new people. If they've never played FH before, and never heard of IT, but know the general idea of the game.....as in, multiplayer...it might frighten them a little to appear in an empty cave with no one in sight.
So, my idea: I think there should be a nonplayer character, or a sign of some sort welcoming them and helping them get started. It could point them to the portals and explain what they are, or maybe even give basic hints like "Press E to fly" and such.

Just something small would work. ^^"

This sounds interesting. It would certainly be very helpful to new players.
Maybe this little 'how to get started' tutorial could pop up on a window when a user logs on FH for the first time.
And they can open it anytime they want. Although I do not see it being added.
But keep the great ideas coming. ^^

Me gusta. I imagine starting out would be more confusing for newcomers now that we're spawning in an empty cavern full of oppressive silence. I rather like the idea of an NPC you could click on that would explain the basics of the game.

nice thought but instead of in game directions how about put it on the forum for when the register they have to read about it so they get an idea putting that for people in game is a little to much trouble but i know where u are going with it.

Most of the new members don't use the forum. So I don't think it would be very helpful for them.
Putting it in game would be best.

i know but i mean when they like register right after u must register before playing in game but like u said about it not being added so we wont have to worry about it to much.

I never said it /will not/ be added. I said it /most likely/ won't be added. It's Kov's decision.
At the moment, he just seems to be focusing on bigger things than this.
