How to make a scrolling preset?

ive been trying to find out how to make one but havent one how to.Im thinking a making a scrolling one with black,semitransparent black and transparent.Any one know how to make a scrolling texture out of these color?

Making a scrolling preset is easy, if you know how to make a preset.
Do you know how to make a preset?
And if so, do you know how to code their material file?

yeah i know how to make a preset and the coding but if you mean like make my own coding then im lost XD but i do know how to copy and paste it into the material file ive made transparent presets before.

i know the code already i just dont know what you mean by layers.Is it like animated presets where you make two bodys with different colors to change colors?

I dont know what you mean.

Do you mean layers on a program like GIMP or layers on the code?

Or do you mean you want a preset with a still layer and a moving layer on top or something. Is any of those the layers you mean?

What code are you planning on using exactly? It might make it more easier for me to understand ^^

I mean like just different layers of colors on one layer of gimp.Could i still make scrolling a preset like that?

You can use as many layers as you want on GIMP.

When saving it click the "Save as" you would have to click the export button that appears, then click the Load Defaults button. This is when its saved as a .png image.

Once its been exported and saved then it will be "compressed" into one layer so its usable for your preset ;)

I dont want a moving layer over a a fixed one i just want a scrolling texture with black on top,semi black transparent is the middle and transparent on the bottom and i was it to be scrolling slowly down.Do i make layers or actually just draw on one layer?

lol i think it would be a lot simpiler to make a step by step plan for me XD
