Can't Find Terrain Height Map
« on: May 12, 2012, 10:15:22 pm »
I am making a map for the first time. I have made the grayscale and the color scale on two seperate GIMP pages (whatever you would like to call them.) I have saved them both and when I go to put in the named in the "World" tab on Map Maker and type in the name, then ".png" it says it can't find it. Am I doing something wrong?

Make sure height map is;

513x513
PNG
Greyscale
Onelayer
No alpha channel (Can be changed via layers right clicking on layer in GIMP)
MapNameTerrain.png <- be sure to add in terrain.

Make sure you have the image saved into Feralheart > Media > Terrains. Otherwise the game won't be able to locate the file. This is the only cause I can think of as if it was one of the issues stated by CloudFish the game would just crash upon loading it.

The game would probably crash if you met any of the problems cloudfish had suggested. So yes, the files either in the wrong location, or you need to mess around with how you type it in the box. It could be case sensitive, or you may not want to include the .png in the title, or maybe the file isn't actually a .png and you didn't realize it.
