Custom Preset Problem
« on: June 11, 2012, 05:53:40 am »
A friend of mine made a preset for a friend and me the same way and we both exported it the same way and both applied them, but for some reason my shows up for everyone that has it, but my friend could only get his to show for himself. We've tried everything we can think of but it won't show up to other people. Any idea why this preset wouldn't work and mine does?

Did he give the other users the Preset file or did he give them the the file out of My Presets. If he gave them the files like preset_1head etc it should simply be, what ever his username is for example "Username.fhp" <-- that is what he should be giving out to people to download and they should place it in the file called "Presets" not "My presets". If this is not the case I will try and find another solution.

He gave us the exported file. I even logged in as him and tried to export it myself to see if it wasn't just his game being weird. No success.

Are the files named the same thing? Could be a problem with interaction of the two on the server, though am not sure that would be case. Could be a problem none-the-less, possibly.

They are named the exact same. We are just stumped. We contacted the maker of the preset and even he is stumped. He even tried switching the preset's number and my friend exported and regive everyone the exported file.

Have your friend open up the preset's material file with notepad and rename all the files (where it has the name of the preset) with his own username, as well as the places those files are in the .material file. After that, have him re-export. It could be something completely simple as the preset having the same name. If this solution doesn't work, I am honestly stumped.

Looked at the file and all the file names match the images in the folder. The other friend I have that makes them makes them all the time and even made me one and he's stumped as to why mine works and was made the exact same way and his doesn't. He's starting to think FH just hates him. :\

That's terribly unfortunate... have any presets ever worked for him before?

This is the first he's had for himself. He sees mine perfectly though in game on my character as can everyone else, but his only he can see. No one else even after giving them the exact same file. Maybe it's something out of reach of player means. The creator that creates them all the time is lost about this. Only thing I can think of is that the game really has a problem with it somehow or another that is beyond what we as players can fix.

If the game was up right now I could pass the files around and see if someone could get them working or see them in game, but that won't happen right now.
