Also, shading! Maybe adding shadows to objects may help as the sun moves around, but it would be very hard to code shadows

terrain.material

It wasn't obvious which part I was supposed to modify at first though.

EDIT: Mod is nearly finished, here's Bonfire Island at night:

Still need to figure out how to fix waterglow in caves

Definitely put this up.

It'll be up once I figure out how to keep the water from glowing in caves, which get very dark!

Interesting thing I noticed when I was testing cave darkness effects: the fluorite crystals in Ficho Tunnel glow, so it isn't all pitch-black around them.  Last Cave isn't quite pitch-black, either, but that's because I left a little auto-lighting--it's still very dark.  But with the darkness in Ficho broken by the lights, you don't have to worry about not being able to see!  (in the mod, eyes glow, so you'll be able to see everybody's eyes, too)

EDIT: Here's the issue I'm trying--and failing--to fix:

Anybody have any idea how to make the water darker in caves?

Yes, lights are more noticeable!  Better tell Red he'll need to add light fixtures to the Feral Heart Cinema, though--I can't see a thing anymore XD  Same with Feral City at night.

The waterglow gets annoying, trust me.  If you're half-in the water, everything underwater glows.
