Getting in to FeralCity
« on: August 12, 2012, 12:03:03 am »
I downloaded FeralCity the other day (Thanks Red) and have tried getting in ever since with no luck. I turned my water reflection down all the way and brought the viewing distance to 0, but it still won't let me in! I've heard there's things you can download to help prevent lagginess and such but I can't remember where I can get it. Would anyone mind giving me the link to the download or suggesting other things I could do to get in that super amazing map? I have a Mac, so I don't know if that changes anything or not. Please help.

Some say that I'm the cat's pajamas.
And the kitten's mittens.

Have you tried using Direct instead of Opengl? I cant get in with OpenGL at all but Direct I get in immediantly.

What is this Direct and OpenGL you speak of? I'm so sorry, I'm not a computer whiz or anything. ;A;

When you click the FH icon a box normally comes up saying pick a rendering system. and Red has a thread in tutorials that deals with your processor I beleive on reducing the lag in the game.

I changed it to Direct and restarted the game. At first it just said "Bad Token" so I went back on the character for a second time, which let me in to the map. As I was moving the camera with the arrow keys over to the city it stopped working and a window popped up saying "Feralheart.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close."

Your Computer might not be able to handle the map. If I knew more about these kinda issues I could help XD

I used to have that problem alot on my old laptop and I suspect it was because the laptop itself had an out dated graphics card but sometimes you can get that Feralheart.exe problem for random reasons that do not even relate to that. If your computer can handle Feral Heart + it should be able to handle that map. As of right now I do not know any ideas that could help you with this problem since you have already tried the best ones... I will look around the forum though to see if there's any other possible solutions for you.

Thank you very much Lord Surugaha. I have tried downloading FH+ before but it only says to "Download the latest patch." I really do appreciate your concern though :3

Can I just say. Apparently Feral City has SO MANY items, meshes etc etc that it does become partly unstable to run on some computers because of the file size.

If you perhaps try to get in the map, let it load before you move. Look up to reduce the lag.

This may not always guarantee you'll get right in the map. But waiting and letting the stuff load first may help you slightly.
Like I said, Feral City is FULL of items and is very laggy.
