Map problem
« on: August 18, 2012, 02:03:46 am »
I've made a height map and made sure it was set to 513 by 513 and grayscale.  I also saved it directly into my map folder under terrains.  I've remade it several times.  I've reinstalled.
But whenever I open up the map editor and open up my map, and type in the name of the height map, it just doesn't show up.
At the top left where the maps are displayed, it does show the height map there.  But the flat surface you start out with doesn't change at all to my map.  It just remains.. Flat.

Did I do something wrong?  ;w;
-Help appreciated.

**Also, when I go to test it everything is completely black.  It just shows my character.

I was recommended a reinstall and did just that literally a half hour ago.

When you've re-installed, you loose that heightmap you made.
Hope this answered your question.

Also, when your trying to get your map to show up, you click the 'World' tab and type it in the 'Alpha Terrain', not just type in your map's name in the first tab, right?\?

I've put it back into the feralheart folders, and I've done that, yes.

Also, after I go to test mode then back to edit mode, it turns the sky black and everything completely disappears.  Like it resets.

Just try enabling sky, which can be done with in the 'World' Tab.

Well, I knew that part.
Not too worried about the sky right now.  x.x

Hmm, my only suggestion would be to rename the file something that doesn't habe any capitals (despite the 'Terrain' part)
