Unending Blackness?

I just got the game. I made by wolf then I was just in a black place. No matter were a go I see nothing. Did I download the wrong thing?

Could be the case, did you download FH+?

Or did you download the "Game Setup" on top of the downloads page?

If you can see your character but not the background it's usually because the user downloaded FH+ since it doesn't have the maps required to play the game normally.

If you spawn in a map that you do not possess, you get this black abyss usually, but it can also in some cases be because the location you installed the game to, but also maybe a broken installer.

What I'd advise you would be to remove your game folder(placed in C:\FeralHeart), make sure you remove this completely. Once that is done, download the game again by clicking the download link on top for the regular game having the "Game setup" next to it and then just install the game to your computer again.

If the errors still occur when you log on with the new game installed, try "Reset home" button and then "Go home". It should help.

However, does the start screen of the game work? Do you see the world behind the menu buttons or is that black too?

I can see the background. It is not black.

Then it's nothing wrong with the rendering of the game at least.

What I'm guessing is that either you are missing a few maps when you installed the game, could be from a broken installer, or that your character for some reason would be inside a custom map or any other map that your game doesn't have, in that case you should just be able to "Reset home" and "go home".

Just to click the feather icon in the bottom of the screen as you are logged on with a characters.

I tried resetting my home. Then I pushed go home. It was Return to ? then I said ok then it said Cannot find map file.

Then you most likely installed the game with a broken installer mentioned above.

Remove your whole game folder C:\FeralHeart, then acquire a new game setup from the downloads page and install the game with the new installer you just downloaded.

I already did that. Do I have to download it three times?

The ? means that the map cannot be found as far as I'm concerned.

So you must be missing the maps, if you use FH+ this would happen since you lack the standard maps, and if you had a broken installer not giving all the maps.

So either you have been unlucky enough to get this bug several times, or you just keep downloading FH+ or install the game with the installer that you first downloaded, which will not help you.
