Large Maps, crashes help? :P

Ok, so I have seen people with huge maps before, but when ever I try to make one, for example, 1000px by 1000px instead of 512px by 512px (or 513px) but it never works and the game always crashes. If there is an answer to this already could someone please show me the link to it? Or if anyone knows how post it below? If so, please help me with this! Thanks for any help, its very appreciated ^^

The heightmap always has to be 513x513. If you want to make it bigger, go to the Map Maker. On the World tab, you have two options: Width and Height. Just change Width to make it larger and Height to make it taller. cx

I just need to find out how to make my water that I made show up, cause all I see is white, and I put the pic. as a jpg. file and put it in the terrains, thing, but all I see is a white square.

Oh, are you typing in the name of the material file? If you are, that's not necessarily the name of it. c: The name of the material for the water is inside the file, in the first line, where it says 'material <MATERIAL NAME HERE>'

Um, wait I only have the picture, the jpg image, and how do you make the material file, thing? or is that what it is? I'm sort of confused, lol
