Map problem.
« on: September 24, 2012, 12:03:49 am »
So I just downloaded a map for a Warrior Cat RP then I put everything in Exports, Sounds, Textures, etc.. But then once I tried it out, I kept losing connection. Is it the map? My computer? Or did I mess up the files? Help me please. I need to RP soon before I explode! DX :'(

You say that you keep losing connection but exactly when? Are you able to get in the map and then you lose connection? Or Are you stuck still trying to pass the portal and you get bad tokens & lose connection? Sometimes I have had maps that you have to log in a few times to get into them because you keep getting the "failed to connect to map server" or "bad token" message. Any specific error messages?

You could try to be really stubborn and continue over and over. It could work. It usually does for me. For example when the Plains is so full because of the amount of people on that specific map - just keep logging on.

I've been trying for a while. I promise I have. I think it might just be my computer or I messed up a file..? -Shrug.- Idk what to do.

Well Fogg you can possibly try changing your rendering system cause sometimes the maps have a ton of meshes on them and maybe your current rendering system doesn't allow you to load them right. That happened to me recently with a friends map. It only works on Direct3D9 instead of the OpenGL. You can change it in game through the options menu under the video settings. You could also try turning down your viewing distance and turning off water reflection. Maybe it's a loading issue that is preventing you from getting in the map so try that out and then tell us how it works.

As for Terrin try not to piggy back other people's help posts especially if you're having a slightly different problem. You can make your own help post that will get more attention. But anyway Terrin make sure they gave you the fhm file. If placing the map files into the Feral Heart "Exports" folder didn't make it work than try placing the files as so:
FHM files go into FH>Media>Terrains
FHO files go into FH>Media>Objects
FHS/FHW go into FH>Media>Sky
Music files go into FH>Media>Sounds/Music
Then restart the game and check in the Cape.
Hope that helps.
btw there should have been a "read me" file in both of your downloads that told you where to put the stuff. Most of the time there is one.

I definately will not give up looking for a solution for you Fogg, at least not yet. It's no problem at all really. I am searching through the forum now for some similar posts about what you're going through that might have the perfect solution for you. Once I find something I will post here :) Btw you can try the same advice I gave Terrin in case you misplaced a file.
