haha I'm having height terrain problems (Solved~!)
« on: October 27, 2012, 08:03:56 pm »
This is my first time making a map so I do have the jist of it (like the height and mask, grey scaling and all that) but even though I followed the steps directly my FeralHeart keeps crashing every time I load the preset. I've looked at a few other things regarding this problem but they all seem to have different problems and some that I found didn't have an answer. I used GIMP for this and kept it grey scaled, I named it meowmixterrain.png, and I've kept it on one layer but it's just crashing still. Help?

Hmm...you made it greyscale and on one layer, so that shouldn't be the problem. Could it be that the image isn't square? It should be 512x512.

Of course... that's one of the things it says to do in the link I gave you derp lol
"\\4) Solution # 1 did not work
If you try to load a heightmap that keeps crashing the game even though you know you got all required preferences for it such as size, grayscale, 1 layers etc. Try converting it into either a .bmp or .jpeg image, save it. Load the new saved image, and convert it back to .png. This solves the issue in some cases and force the image into one layer
."

Glad you finally got it to work :)
Btw try not to double post ;)
