Can't get past the startup screen
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:34:37 pm »
I just downloaded Tearless' markings pack thing and I go to try it out but I can't even get past the KovuWorks screen and FH stops working and quits. How can I fix this and sorry if I didn't post this in the right place.

It's possible you mixed up some files in the process of installing the mod... That or some files were deleted. Make sure that you followed any  directions on the  "read me" file closely.
Do any specific error messages appear on the crash? You can also try going into your particles folder and deleting any extra or duplicate particles. They will usually have some number on the end. Double particles are often a sneaky reason why the game starts crashing mysteriously. Goodluck and I hope this helps

I checked all of that, no extra particles or anything either. As for as an error code goes there isn't one either, it just says Feral Heart has encountered an issue and shuts down.

Well you can always try uninstalling the game and deleting the Feral Heart folder and then reinstalling if nothing else fixes the problem. If your game worked fine before you downloaded the mod and only started crashing once you installed it you most likely messed up some files some where. I can't see your files so I can't provide more specific help. If it comes down to unistalling the game you might want to consider backing up any of your important files like presets etc into a folder else where in your computer. The next time you try to download the mod have a back up of the original unmodified folder(s) that way if the problem starts again you can just replace them and not have to go through all the uninstalling/deleting/ and reinstalling. Follow the "read me" very carefully too. Goodluck

Thanks! That really helped! Though the one thing that still confuses me is that Feral Heart works perfectly fine but when I install Tearless' Markings pack it stops working, and only that mod to. I followed the readme instructions to the tee but it still breaks FH. I guess my computer just hate that markings pack then.

Glad that fixed the problem with the crashing but well idk why the mod isn't working still. Maybe you can contact Tearless about it? I'm sure she would be more than willing to offer some advice and help you, cause honestly I'm stumped.
Here is a link to her profile:

Scroll down and press where it says "send this member a personal message"
Goodluck I hope you get that mod to work.
