Maps not appearing
« on: December 19, 2012, 02:43:12 am »
I have downloaded a map but the portal doesn't appear in the Cape Of Distant Worlds.  I copied all of the files into the exports folder.  The same problem occurs when I export a map from the map maker.  Is it just my computer or am I not doing something right?

After you downloaded the map did you restart your game? If you had the game open while downloading the new map the portal will not appear until you restart.

Make sure whoever the Map Maker is put a portal in it. I'm not exactly sure if this helps, but this happened once and then they re-exported it. I reinstalled it and it worked fine. :3

And like Lord said, do that if you didn't in both situations. :3

*wink wink*

?  There's this little thing called love ?

Very true what Kiri mentioned above^. Be sure to ask the map maker just in case it's not a problem exclusive to you.
As for your own maps that aren't appearing in the Cape:
-Did you try reexporting?
-Check the file locations and make sure you put everything in the right place.
When you download/save maps here are the steps to installing the files:

1.) Follow the "read me" file if there is one and place the files in the places where it says or just place all the files into the "Exports" folder

OR

If placing the map files into the Feral Heart "Exports" folder didn't make it work right than try placing the files as so:
FHM files go into FH> Media >Terrains
FHO files go into FH>Media>Objects
FHS/FHW go into FH>Media>Sky
MP3 files go into FH>Media>Sounds/Music
Then restart the game
Hope that helps.

-Was the map saved before you exported?
-Lastly you can always try backing up all your important files like presets etc and then uninstall the game and delete the Feral Heart folder before reinstalling the game again and replacing your important saved files back. Sometimes that helps.
