Crow
« on: January 12, 2013, 03:59:08 am »

This is Crow, my new character. She is quite the young and crazy feline, but she comes along with an interesting back story.
As a cub, she lived in a lush forest with lots of little creeks and weird insects. Crow had a sister and an older brother. Eclipse and Midnight. Sleek, their mother, was very brave. She was always willing to do whatever it took to care for her them. Obviously being curious about the world outside their den, Midnight wanted to explore. Sleek was out hunting for supper and Crow didn't want to stay in the den while their brother went out. Crow and Eclipse usually were always the "Good girls". Well not today! They quickly followed Midnight, their large paws and short legs clumsily tripping over each other.
Eclipse ran ahead of her siblings, alerting them of an unknown object. Crow motioned Midnight to follow, her tail sprung high in the air as she trotted over. Crow's large glowing yellow eyes spotted a piece of meat inside the object. She wanted to impress their mom by bringing home dinner all on their own.  Telling her litter mates, they quickly nodded their heads. The hunk of meat was big, so they agreed to each grab a little piece to carry home. Darting in, they bent down their heads, their jaws pulling pieces of meat up. Midnight stopped. He smelled something unfamiliar. This didn't smell of the forest or anything like that! Before he was able to warn his sisters something loud clamped the object shut. They were trapped. Crow arched her back, her large black pupils turning into thin black slits.
Sleek must have heard, for her cubs saw her sprinting towards them with fear clouding her eyes. Eclipse opened her mouth as if to say something, but all that came out was a tiny squeak. Suddenly, a large tall creature on two legs mumbling something picked up the object with Crow and her litter mates. Their large eyes darted around as they watch Sleek get smaller below them. But she wasn't going to give up. Sleek leaped up, her claws hooking into the little square holes, "I'll get you out. I promise!" she hissed into their ears. Another weird creature walked over, but it was holding something. It held it in a weird way, aiming it at their mom. Midnight and his sisters flatten their ears and squeeze their golden eyes shut as a loud bang rang through the air.
Crow opened her eyes uncertainly, nudging her siblings to do the same. "Momma help us!" they squeaked. Her eyes faded from the brave golden orbs to grey clouds covering them. Her claws slipped from the object, her limp body landing on the ground with a thump.
"Momma?" they breathed, staring down wondering why she wouldn't get up. No reply.
The creatures muttered something before walked away again, shaking the object carelessly. They shoved it into a large metal noisy... thing.

Crow's eyes flashed open. Her brother was curled up next to her with her sister tucked in between. They were still in that object, the piece of meat that started it all laying in the corner. All of a sudden there was a big shake and the thing they were in that was moving stopped. The two leg creatures grabbed them once again, stepping onto a hard smooth ground. Crow looked down, then up, then noticed there were other animals in this place too. They were a chattering bunch.
                      "My cage is so cramped."
"Is anyone gonna buy ya', mate?"
"Your sister was sold the other day, right?"
"Ha, look, three more fuzzy animals. Those guys will definitely get sold today."
Crow wasn't sure what this was, but the two leg opened the door to the "cage"... but just to another one.  Pushing them in roughly, it shut the door before they could make a run for it. It turned and was lost in the crowd.

Heeyyy whoever is reading this! I hope you liked it, I kind don't know what is going to happen next, so I stopped before I ruined it. xD Should I continue? Sorry for any typos, I'm writing this pretty late. I feel like this might belong more in the Story section, if so, you can always move it.

Nice story Shaddonite 8)
I'm usually not too keen on pure-black characters, but I sort-of like this one.
If you're going to ever make a "partner" for Crow, I suggest you call him Raven.
( I would ::) )

I like how you made her dark grey not pure black, i hate pure black lions/wolves, you can't even see the fur markings!
