Zanu huffed, what was becoming of the race of lupus? "I cant stand this" he shook his head, lightly placing down Khars body. "Why would any one 'get rid of' a pack member in such a way?" He shot a look at the alpha. "Has it now become that wolves are nothing more than followers? Followers to a single or two wolves? And if they take a single step of that path they must  be killed?" The last part rolled of his tongue with a snarl. "Have we no longer got liberty as wolves?" he added. He looked at the pack and the other wolves that were walking away.

"Nobody said to get rid of her. I said to take care of that. How he interpreted it was up to him." Slayter spoke as he walked away, towards the hill that Switch had mentioned. "I have no use for members who do not intend to mind their place, control their tempers, or listen when instructed. No room for members to attack me without provocation, or who laugh in my face. I'm sick of her disrespectful nature." He ranted, snapping his jaws with nearly every other word.

Zanu flicked his ears. As much as he understood what Sly meant, he couldnt see it being humain to let another wolf 'take care' of one of his pack mates, however he intends. "What makes you think its ok to stay calm when a member of your pack is going to be attacked? Do you see it natural?" He said calmly, as if rolling out a question as in 'Hows your day been?' He couldnt really talk much though, his pack was brutal, each day a was a fight to survive, and he wasnt proud of it. The only creature that he ever truly trusted was Khar. His stature slumped slightly as he looked at Khar, half dead.

     Abyss growled, head lowered and searing eyes focused on the attacking male that had retreated. She bore her fangs slightly. She padded quickly to Alayni. "Are you alright...?" She asked, nudging the other female. She looked over at Zanu. "We are pack animals... Without a pack, we could not be considered as wolves... If we are of the lower ranks, it is in our blood to support our alpha and his wishes, with intent to at least do so as one..." She bowed her head to him and gazed upon the rusty wings of the red-kite. "We also do what we can to protect all that is precious to us... If we must kill a Defiant in the process, it may not be helped..."

Alayni looked towards Abyss saying "Yes..." She doesn't like to make others worry for her so she continued to walk, with a little limp. Wincing in pain Alayni collapsed onto her side as blood seeped from her large jaws, even with her maw closed blood seeped from her mouth, she thought to herself 'What more could the Alpha want...? I p...protected h...him...' Alayni stuttered in her thoughts because so much blood was seeping out of her maw.

Zanu growled. All of this, this, well, brutalitly to other living things. And its even worse to know its to our own kin. Zanu shook his head. "Yes, we are pack animals, withought that, we are not wolves, but we are also intelligent, intelligent enough to know friend from foe, enough to not kill our own companions. I may not be apart of this pack, but I still protected the one who was attacked." He glanced to Alayni. "We still need our freedom, so we can live, we need liberty. Otherwise we turn into a mindless animal that doesnt think." he said.

Slayter watched Abyss describe his exact thoughts. He blinked and turned to Zanu. "Anything I do, I do for the greater good. I had no intent of you or your companion joining the fight." He said and glanced to the bird. "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few, at least in my eyes. In my old pack, that would have been an honorable death. " he said and took a step back. "Things are as they are, and my fathers laws will prevail in the end." He said, standing rather proudly at the mention of his father. "All wolves have freedom in my ranks, as long as you do what needs to be done. But she has been nothing more than a nuisance since she joined." He said and walked over yo Alayni. "But maybe that has changed." He said, glancing up to Switch. The bird blinked and started off again, taking a nonverbal cue from Slay.

Zanu sighed. He still wasnt comfortable with it, but he didnt have the energy to continue rambling. He gently nudged Khar, to check if he was ok. Khar lightly lifted his head, and spoke with a weak voice. "Ill....Be....Ok....." he said with a faint smile. But Zanu wasnt convinced.

    Abyss nodded as she hauled the injured female onto her back. "I understand what you are saying... Artemis had the same views, which was why everyone was equal in the pack... But... As I've said before... We will become killers if the time calls for such acts. I am head hunter, of this pack, yes. Of Pack of Understanding, I had no rank, because I was considered a curse upon the pack, and one of the lowest ranks possible. In this pack, I do not have to worry about being judged for my pelt, but by my skill and my heart. That is why I will serve the alpha until I cannot fight any more..."
    When she heard the kite's voice, she smiled faintly. "I see he's recovering... That's good."
