A Standing Chance (Realistic Wolf RP)

     As soon as there was a nearby snort, Abyss lowered herself into a crouch. "Alright, everyone knows what to do, right?" She whispered.
     Li nodded, and began crawling ahead of them so he could take the cover of the overgrowth and take the beast by surprise.


     Aku nodded. "Alright." He stood straight and took steps that were small enough that the pup could keep up with him.

Zanu stooped low as they approached. He went a bit to the side, s he could see the hunt clearly, so he could let out the warning when needed.

Khar fluttered down to a branch, that was outside the cave. From this angle he could now see that he was right that it was a cave. He waited for the tiger, wolf and pup outside the cave entrance.

     Abyss sighed faintly as she readied herself to make the first move. She would be running in head on, and would have to trust in Zanu, as well as the others.
     Li waited for Abyss to move so he could tackle. He was in position.

     Aku waited for the pup to catch up, as well as Regret.

Maska huffed and padded after the hunting party after giving Koda an encouraging nudge. Tongue lolling with with every bouncy step. As the distinctive scent of whitetail deer entered his nasal passage, he instinctively crouched down. He waited as the others took their position, then crept around to his, patiently waiting for Abyss to make her first move.

          Koda stared after the hunting party as they trotted off and let out a subtle whine. Glancing around, he slunk over to the shelter of the tiger until the red kite swooped down with a shelter in mind. As they began to set out, the pup sprang after them, loping to keep up until the tiger adjusted his pace. "Where're we goin'?" He asked in a slightly more confident tone, trotting behind the enormous feline.

In the position he was in, Zanu had a clear shot of the herd, and saw an old stag, clearly out of his days, and had a very slight limp in his front left foot. He looked down at Abyss, and without making a sound, he gestured towards it, telling her it would be an easier kill.

Regret blinked and chuckled "No offense taken, I have a loud bark. I could drive the deer the other direction." She said standing up, and following.

     Abyss nodded towards Zanu. The buck may have been old, but it was considerably large. She crept over to it it, and swatted her paw at his snout, making him jump and toss his head. The rest of the herd started to move away. The buck tried to follow, but the black wolf snarled and jumped in his way, snapping her jaws at his front legs to keep him from moving forward.
      Li readied himself, then jumped out of the overgrowth, making the buck fall onto its side because of the slippery mud, and roll over the timber wolf. The large wolf held on to one of the antlers to keep it from tossing its head and goring him, as well as Abyss, who was still keeping it from noticing Maska, and slowly pushing it closer to the father.


     Aku blinked and looked down at the pup. "We're heading to a secluded den. We should be safe there."

Maska growled quietly and with anticipation as he watched the two begin the hunt. Quietly, he crept around, eyes locked on it as Abyss drove it closer to him. When it was within striking range, the brute leaped out of cover, landing on his paws in the mud just to the side of the buck. Springing upwards, he barreled himself into its neck, latching onto it with his jaws and using his body weight to tackle the old beast back down to its side. Losing his grip and tumbling away once the deer fell, Maska quickly regained his footing and hopped back on, holding its long neck down with his paws and locking his jaws back around it.

"Oh-okay" Koda yipped, trotting quickly to keep close to the safety of the tiger.

Zanu watched as Abyss made her move, and then Li knocked it to the ground.
Zanu let a low bark escape his mouth as the stag slipped. He could see the dangerous hooves flailing madly in the air. "Keep away from those hooves!" He warned.
He leapt down from his observing point, skirting around the attack. He could see that Maska had bitten into it's neck, so he didn't need to get in his way.

Khar came and circled over the heads of the group going to the cave, to make sure they were going in the right direction, and were ok. Now he gently glided just ahead of them, leading them through a trail that would soon reach the cave.

     Abyss growled at the beast again, keeping it from running off, and nipping at its heels.
     Li used his weight to his advantage, and clamped his jaws harder on the beast's antler, and kept it head down to where it wouldn't gore anyone, or go after Zanu.
     The deer bellowed, trying to unhook his antlers from the timber wolf's bite.

     The tiger looked up at Khar, then looked at Regret, Suffer and the pup. "We're close." He said, keeping his pace slow enough for everyone to keep up.
