Exporting Map-FH Crashes
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:28:26 pm »
I'm pretty sure there was a thread about this, but can't find anything.
I'm trying to export a very large map for a pack, but when I do so, it crashes.
Now the map won't even load, it crashes.
Any ideas?

Maybe there are double particles. Check your particles folder and delete any double particles. Also check your My Objects folder (FH/Media/Objects/My_Objects) for any duplicate files. They would have numbers at the end like _0 or _1 etc. It could also be that maybe your meshes are too big and are having trouble loading.

There probably are some errors in the files the map is using. Check all the meshes in the object groups you've used in the map, make sure none of them have a "missing texture/material" or are actually missing from the group itself. Check the sky and weather, make sure there aren't any missing particles or files.

As for the crashing, check your "particles" and "Sky" folder for particle duplicates. They look like this:

nameoffile_0.particle or sometimes nameoffile_1.particle.

Find and delete those files.

I'm not sure what else I can do to help with your map, I've experienced the same kind of things with my maps. Maybe your map is just a little too big?

I hope you find the answer to your problem :)
Will be inactive due to work and exams.

I did, I don't find anything with _0 or _1 at the end.
Now the map, or any map that has been exported won't load. It would crash.
And when you go to Feral Heart> Media>Objects
The things listed below; "MyObject.fho", only Feral Heart's default objects work. Not the ones I download. If I keep the ones I've downloaded there, the map will crash.
I don't know if you get me. ^^'

If only the default objects are working its because you need to make sure you put the custom objects into their own group. Don't just include them amongst the default objects they need their own folder.

I'm checking that now with the Object files, so far I haven't found anything.
But, thank you. ^^

Alright, I'm going to try to edit all my custom objects and place them into a new group.
Hopefully that'll work?

If you know how to use the file explorer, you could try to install a new copy of Feralheart without overwriting the actual one you have, i mean with this, to install in somewhere like C:\FeralHeart2
after that, you copy your map files from the old FH folder to the new one, (the .map file and his folder with the same name), and also all the custom meshes downloaded.

Copy your maps one by one and run FH, this is to know if there is a specific map making the crash.
Copy the meshes little by little, and undo when you get a crash.

The idea is to get a new and clean working FH copy and to restore the maps slowly to know if someone is making the crashes.
