A map that should work, isn't working..
« on: March 04, 2013, 01:28:16 am »
Hello floofs!

I have a map that is for one of my Rps. Now it's like any other map, you have to puts stuff in exports and then put a grass file into media>terrains>textures. And I have never had a map that doesn't work no matter what I try. I have tried deleted the all the object files and not the .fhm file. I have tried deleted drek object files. I tried changing my opening system to Direct3D9 (Or something) And still nothing. Can anyone try to help me? I just.. Am at a loss, and I truley do not want to leave the Rp for THAT reason.. ;3; Help meh!

~Jess

Are you trying to get the map you've downloaded to show in cape?

Before you do anything, delete what you have previously done and start new. Then find the downloaded file and read the 'README' if there is one. If there is no README then place the downloaded file into LocalDiskC:\>>FeralHeart>>Exports and if it comes up with an option to replace things then replace them. After that restart FH and see if it shows up if not locate the Dowloaded file (Which you put in exports) and move everything in that folder into Exports too.

Make sure you read the instructions given in the README carefully (If there is a readme).

No.. Basically, I see the portal. I jump in. Feralheart crashes. I look at the downloaded files for the map, I did everything right.. But, Feralheart still crashes, no matter what I try ;3;

Try to understand that downloading maps isn't new to me, I have downloaded.. at least 30 maps since I joined Feralheart and, they have never crashed like this.. Well once Feralheart itself crashed whenever i opened it but that was the drek files.

If the map has really large meshes etc this could cause strain on the map being able to load on to your system. You say that you've tried changing from Direct3D9 but have you also tried bringing your View Distance down to 0 & setting your Water Reflection to off? If that doesn't work try this:

If placing the map files into the Feral Heart "Exports" folder didn't make it work right than try placing the files as so:
FHM files go into FH>Media>Terrains
FHO files go into FH>Media>Objects
FHS/FHW go into FH>Media>Sky
Mp3 files go into FH>Media>Sounds/Music
Then restart the game
Hope that helps.

Have you tried re-downloading the map? Maybe during the download, it was corrupted or something. Sorry I'm not much help, but that might work. :p
