Hai Thrilleh. <3
I'm sorry to hear that your art classes didn't work, out, but.. There's always a way to improve your work. c:
I would suggest, firstly, looking up art studios/teachers in your area. There may also be some online guides and 'classes', per se, but I haven't done much research on that, myself. Google it, see what you find. :3
However, a very simple thing to do (which has helped me tremendously) is to look up basic lineart for what you want to draw.
Say you want to draw a wolf: Google some wolf lineart, find a simple pose you like, and then sit there with that image before you, and try to replicate it with your own style.
While the design still goes to the orginal artist the practice (using a guide) allows you to get a better feel for your art. (I don't recommend following someone's lineart really closely and calling it your own, but like I said. The practice. It helps. xD)
It's almost like sitting next to an art instructor and imitating what they draw... Just with less talking, and you're left to your own devices as to how closely you follow the design before you.
After a few drawings, you'll notice that your art will improve very quickly. c: Good luck! (And an actual instructor would be the most helpful, so I hope you find someone/something good!)
