It needs to be:

513x513
.png
one layer the WHOLE time/flattened
greyscale MODE

You need to have a program such as GIMP (free) or Photoshop to be able to use the tools/options Ringo has stated.

Nothing is working.  :( ??? :'( T_T Any thing else that's the problem? It's 513x513, .png , one layer the whole time and I flattened it a bunch also, it's in grayscale too, so Idk what's wrong.

I don't think Sumo Paint has that Grayscale option, if that option isn't there then it won't work. Removing the colour with some colour filter will not work. If there is no grayscale option then that's the reason your heightmap is crashing your game.

No. that will not work. You need an art program like GIMP in which you actually set the picture to "greyscale mode."

In the new Photoshop, where would I find grayscale mode?

Hm... While I'm not very familiar with Photoshop, there should be an "Image" option somewhere in your main toolbar. Click this, and within that you should be looking for a "Mode" option. This should allow you to change your mode to grayscale.

I hope this helps!
