Map Exporting Problem.

Kay, basically. I make a great map and want to put it up for download, but everytime I click export, FH crashes and I have to delete the FH folder and re-install ;-; I honestly find this reallllly irritating and I wanna share my maps with people. But I have no idea how without murdering my game. Also, I checked in particles, no _01 _02 etc. None of that. Help?  :'(

Hmm, I would suggest checking your Heightmap & Terrainmask files aswell.
Make sure the Maps CFG & Material Files are intact within their Correct location.
I rarely have this Problem. However, I'll be sure to check back later & Update this if I find more Suggestions. cx

I got this problem /all/ the time whenever I tried to export detailed maps, but normally I managed to get the map out before FH crashed permanently and I was forced to re-install. Recently though, I've found that if you go back into your my_objects folder and check to make sure there are no particle files or other odd files that are messing up your map's export process, it can help fix FH. It's not easy and time consuming, but if you go through your files carefully and check to make sure everything is where it should be, you might come upon the file that broke your game. Otherwise just take /everything/ out of you my_object folder, and take out all of your custom map files as well. This should help get your game running again so you can begin testing what went wrong. Please note that although it did fix my game, it might not for you, but I do hope that this might help out!

I also have this problem sometimes when exporting my maps, i was told by a friend who is also a map maker that unfortunately it is a common bug that a lot of people experience when they export their maps the heightmap gets corrupted or something and this causes the game to "break" or in other words not work anymore. And the FH staff are unable to pinpoint what exactly is causing this and therefore are unable to fix it. But i always prepare myself whenever i'm working on a map by backing up my "working" Feral Heart folder on my external hard drive before i export a map so that away after i export a map i'm making if the game breaks i can just copy my working FH folder off my external hard drive and replace the broken one.

I've never really had this /exact/ problem but I had one similar. My map would only cash on a certain object group. I ended up finding out it had nothing to do with the object group itself but the limit on how much the FH exporter can handle. If you're map is really, really big, detailed and has large files the exporter sometimes can't handle it.

I also know when I export huge maps my FH will gimme the whole "not responding" but if I wait a bit it comes back and exports fine. Is it crashing by itself and giving you an error about not responding and forces it to close? Or are you just exiting when it does "not responding" without waiting?

I did find 3 .particles in my_objects, delete by any chance? :I

Yes it is, when I try to open FH again it gives me the error again and closes after a few seconds.

Particles in wrong folders shouldn't give you problems- atleast to my experience. I have a few scattered particles in My_Objects and Misc. They export jsut fine, I jsut need to go in and remove duplicates. So that should be causing you problems.

Does it have a _# after it? Even if a particle doesn't have _0 any other number is a duplicate that'll cause crashes too.
