feralheart won't open.

as the title states -- it comes up, but then it suffers from crashing before it even gets to the opening screen. also, the system settings pop up every time. I have nothing installed, I deleted all of my old fh stuff, and wanted to use this one to get mods and such working.

It was probably a mod you installed.
I noticed that if you make changes to essential files, such as character materials or whatnot, sometimes FH disagrees.
Which mods did you install?

it's a vanilla version, there are no mods.

You have tried both Rendering Subsystems?
If that's not it, you may need a new installer.

So your Feral Heart used to work fine before? If so make sure that you cleaned things out correctly before trying to reinstall. So that means uninstall your game completely and then delete the Feral Heart folder before finally reinstalling since that's the best way to make sure you cleaned things out. Once you do that hopefully you should be able to get it working back to normal again. Just be sure to back up all your important files like presets, screenshots, and maps if you haven't already.

 If that doesn't work then make sure to try what Ruby said however if you can't open the game to change your rendering subsystem then refer to this:

Sometimes you aren't able to even enter the game, and all you can hear is the menu music, or it just crashes directly after launch. Those who experience this can enter the feralheart folder located in C:\FeralHeart at standard, find the file called "Ogre.cfg" and open it with wordpad.

This file works just as the ingame options menu, but instead of buttons and sliders, there's text.

What we're interested in is the top row


Set the top row text so it is just like in the picture with the text

Save the file, and close it. Next time you run the game it should boot with the new settings you applied.

i've tried that, it doesn't work for either of them. i've gotten rid of all fh files, uninstalled, ect. even restarted. is there any other installer?
it reverts back to OpenGL every time i save it as the new one.

You could always go into the setting that Lord has provided you and try to manually set it to Direct by typing it in.

Also, there is no known installer that is available other then the one Feral Heart already provides ya with. If you do end up getting a Feral Heart installer from somewhere else, then its pron to have viruses on it and can damage your computer

It won't work.
Oh well, guess i won't be able to play FH at all. No biggie.

well this is what mine does :  it goes to the ORGE thing but then when I try to play after hitting ok it disappears!

I tried going for JUST the FeralHeart installer instead of the updater, but now it says there's a problem with DirectX. Help?
