Feral City and Cinema Issue
« on: April 17, 2013, 10:12:24 pm »
Yeah... I've had this problem for a while alongside my chat issue.
The billboards don't show up, and those couches are weird...
Couches:

They used to be colored, now they're just white and tiny, which makes me inside the couches on other people's screens.
These are all billboards I've found with nothing on them. Pretty sure every billboard, actually.

So yeah. Here is what I tried:
Re-installing, deleting the files and installing again, also a note, first time I downloaded was in a ZIP file, which was showing nothing like this. Just blank billboards.
I've also tried switching rendering systems I'm sure... I was wondering if you guys knew anything about this?
Or is this just a derpy problem to ignore?

Hmm well being that you already tried the two options I was going to suggest like switching your rendering subsystem and reinstalling the map I'm not too sure what else to suggest. If I were you I would try uninstalling my entire game, deleting the FH folder, and reinstalling my entire game first before reinstalling these maps and such. Sometimes problems with the game's default files themselves make derpy stuff like this happen in other people's maps so it's worth a try. If you go with that option though be sure to back up all your important files like presets, screenshots, and maps.

Also I believe Feral City came with an installer so all you'd have to do really is download and run it and set it's location to the FH main folder and it would do the work for you. It's possible you're doing something wrong while trying to install it. If nothing works to fix it still try messaging Red about it. Good luck

Believe it is the game you have installed.

The thing is that the sofa issue is due to you having other maps that use the sofa.mesh in other maps, and that causes a conflict between the maps and in this case it shows up wrong.

When it comes to the images showing up derpy, I do believe it's similar, all the images are linked to the plane.mesh. If any other map might use this mesh another way it also show up completely wrong.

My suggestion to you for easiest fix is to install a new copy of FH on another location on your computer and do not install any other custom maps or objects or groups for that matter, just install the maps and it should work fine and dandy.

I had this issue myself with the images showing up derpy and I was unable to find where the issue was or from where it came, first when I reinstalled the game it worked fine, but you cannot re-install and just throw all your custom stuff back in there because then your reinstall would be in vain.

Ah, I see... Actually, is it possible to wait for FH+ and install the map(s) into there?
Sorry, I don't know what you mean by do not throw all your custom stuff back in there because then your reinstall would be in vain... So yeah, I'm pretty clueless. I would just leave it, knowing what exactly these billboards show up like on other people's screen. *Hoping I make sense*
If it requires reinstalling FH, deleting FH and sturf (I'm lazy... ^^') then I can live with this issue, really.
I'm just having a hard time understanding these suggestions, that's all... Thanks for your help though~

Not sure you quite get the picture here.

If you want the maps to be working, you just install another copy of the game onto your computer someplace else but C:\FeralHeart.

The maps will work just fine then in the other copy of the game. But if you re-install the game and just throw all your custom stuff and maps that you had in the old copy, the same issue will arrive since it's one of your maps or mods that cause the issue to start with.

FH+ is not really anything to ever suggest to anyone in my case and I'm not sure if the maps would show up properly in a derpy version as it is.

Cheyenne please do not bump dead topics. Not really a big deal, but people get annoyed when old posts are brought back up. And you'll have to use the timezones website to figure that out.
Farewell everyone<3
