Marking 'theives'?

I had someone come up to me and yell at me that I stole their markings once.  I thought it was really funny because I was on my main char, Key, who does not have any markings.

Okay, that's... That's pretty funny. xD They probably meant color scheme, but a lot of lions have dark manes and golden/citrine coats colors, with a lighter undercoat. But even then, there's always slightly different hues per character, though they ideas might be similar.
