Semi-Lit or Lit?
« on: April 25, 2013, 02:48:41 am »
So I'm frequently stumbling across active rp's for literate characters only. I have not responded to any seeing as i am unsure of my literary skills. So I'm posting this Role play sample of something i would normally be posting.    The large brute parted his maw and lick softly across his blood-stained teeth as he watch the intruders stumble knowingly across his territory. His banner swish vigorously to and fro as his body lower to the newly sodden earth. He take a few steps leaving his prints in the soil. His orbits zoom in on the once friend, new prey, and watch his every move. This time he make no mistakes. He has no regrets.
Just reply and let me know what you guys think

I pesonally believe you're literate, although some role plays have different requirements.
The only real way to find out for sure is to go ahead and try getting into the role play yourself. :)

I believe that you are literate, Malaikat.
You should have no problem with joining literate roleplay groups . c:

I'd say literate, but you use Wolfspeak (link). Quite a large number of literate groups have rules against it (the one I'm in automatically kicks people who use such terms); I'd recommend sticking to your standard, understandable names for body parts like 'tail' and 'eyes' if you'd rather not risk being declined- 'banner' and 'orbits' don't make sense at all. I would personally raise said concerns if you whispered me with such a sample, but that's just my personal taste! There's no need to follow my advice. :)

The detail's otherwise lovely and well-written! I doubt you'll have any issues getting into literate groups that allow such a style of roleplay. It's one of the more understandable Wolfspeak-ish posts! :D

Thanks for the feedback! I very much appreciate it! its been quiet a journey learning how to type and actually role play. I had no clue how to even do so when i joined feral-heart and was very much wanting to learn as i thought it may help with my writing skills. I am so glad I have gotten to a point where i am now considered literate.
Once again thanks so much for replying! :)

Thats a very nice job,but like Nemmy said, you are using Wolfspeak, which is a bunch of random words people come up with to consider themselves 'literate' like banner and I think orbits. But there are other words for eyes and tail. But other than I consider you pretty lierate. :)

You are definitely literate. My bother is my language. I really want to be a literate. I know english well but I don't know alot of synonymes and I can't describe details without using a translate, because if I don't use it, I act like a semi-literate, but I don't want to. In RP I use translate and I strive to learn the words that are harder for me. Even that I think I'm getting better and I hope one day I'm going to be a literate without the annoying translate. C:

You seem literate to me. I would recomend not using wolfspeak with some roleplays, there are many who don't like it. If you find a roleplay that allows wolfspeak, then I guess it's okay.

Hmm. Not bad, maybe you should try mixing in some past tense, or the proper present tense? For example,
The large brute parted his maw, and lick softly across his blood-stained teeth as he watch the intruders stumble knowingly across his territory.

Parted is past tense, but lick is present.

Try this: The large brute parted his maw slowly, and licked softly across his blood-stained teeth as he watched the intruders stumble unknowingly across his territory.

cB You could always add me on FH and I can help you.~ Civil Chaos is the name.
