Terrain Mask Fail :(
« on: April 29, 2013, 03:09:15 pm »
I followed the FH tutorial (and the YouTube one), and my Terrain mask still failed. Here's a screenshot of my Height map, my terrain mask, and the result:

Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Details:
My map is called COTD
But my height map is called LOST2
And my terrain mask is called LOST2Mask
Do the names change anything?

I am not sure if you want this kind of help. But well if you go to ''World'' and there is also thing called ''Terrain Texture'' try choosing between those textures, maybe you will find the texture you want,
Secondly there are 2 buttons one forward and one backwards there you can choose what color in terrain mask is going to be what texture. Just check it out by yourself because it is always the best when you find out stuff by testing everything. XD
shhh noone knows me

Alright in Wolfkate's Awesome Idea doesn't work :P (love chu's Wolfie)
er you have to jzt make sure all the colors are RBG colors on mask, and the terrains on Greyscale also make sure the size is 512x512 or 513x513 other wise it will not work as planned!

Love chu too
Just as you can see in the picks they are already in RGB colors and if something is wrong the game should crash. But on the pick you can see that the map opened up .

Sorry, but this doesn't help at all. I'm talking about the black spots :/ Are they supposed to be there? o.o How do I remove them?

I don't really understand. The first one is the original, greyscale, 513x513, blah, blah map, that works. However, the Height map (the colorful one next to it) is what I'm having trouble with. I had done everything Red had done in his tutorial ((https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN6lMKdKBkQ&list=PLCrTZGtLFJkJeB1qYGae-WGR_gSEj_xPf)) and I still have these nasty black spots everywhere where the blue stuff in the pic was. And yeah, of coarse it was RGB. How would I get blue if it was greyscale?? :P

And also, the game didn't crash. How would I have gotten those screenshots if it did? Please try and actually look at the images. I didn't put them there for fun. And sorry if I'm being rude, but nothing is working out for me today.

It's okay.
WolfKate might've helped you a bit though, just change the ground textures.
HOWEVER. If the screenshot is in-game, that's where I'm unable to help you, because I have the same issue with a map... *Thinks of asking for help in game help*
But just switch the ground textures, as it looks like you tested this.
It should be black.jpg on the terrain textures list. Change it to something else that fits your map.
Looks like your map is set at Default terrain textures, apparently.
Use the arrows as WolKate said. :P

OH! I get it now! ;D At first I didn't know what you meant with the arrows, but today I started fiddling around with 'em and I figured it out. :) Thanks!:)
