With a flick of his tail, Risto squeezed back through the tunnel, following after Marie as he padded towards the shore. The shore was entirely silent - the gulls no longer squawked or let out strangled calls. It felt like peace, but something tingled inside the feline as his paws sank into the sand. He flicked away a tail of a fish, thinking it might have been part of the food pile they once had. A sigh escaped Risto's mouth as he continued down the shore, feeling awkward whenever he stumbled - not seeing the seaweed in front of him. Shaking his paw, he ripped away the seaweed, before reaching the water, feeling slightly terrified of it. Would the storm start again if he touched the water? Would it swallow him up?
Tensely reaching out a paw, his pad lightly touched the still water, sending ripples through the water. A cloud of relief shadowed over him, and he tucked his paw away. When he realized Marie was climbing back up to the camp, a huff blew out of his mouth. First, you want us to check the shore. Now, without even checking it - you're heading back! The feline muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes as he sprinted after the wolf. Gently flicking his tail at Gavroche's ear, he snapped, "C'mon, midget. We're moving out."
Dusty trudged after Teegan, separating as he headed his own way. Deciding to hunt by himself for some peace and quiet, he departed the two females and headed over to the ally. It felt weird to be in the city - it didn't feel like home. For some reason, he felt better outside of the city, as if he had grew up in there. Shaking his head, he sniffed the air, trying to collect the scents and identify them. His ears perked as a strong scent of rat blew into his nostrils, and he immediately slowed his breathing, crouching low as his eyes adjusted to the gloom. Stilled, Dusty swiveled his ears towards the soft patter of paws, and he slowly began to creep towards the sound. As he grew nearer, the paws froze, and the brute suddenly lunged forward, wrapping his paws around the prey and pinning it to the ground. Swiftly, he bent down and snapped the neck of the rat, feeling triumph as the last squeak escaped the mouth of the rat. Grasping it in his jaws, he trotted outside of the alley, glancing around and wondering where to bury his catch.
When he placed down the rat bad began to scratch through the ground, a sudden hiss made him jerk. Whipping his head around, his eyes narrowed as they rested on a scrawny figure of a feline, emerging from behind a cluster of garbage. Dusty bared his teeth, placing a paw over the carcass. A hiss escaped the feline again, but even as it spoke, Dusty could hardly understand it. But he already knew it wanted the rat, however, Dusty was stubborn enough not to give the cat his prey.
"Run along, you stupid furball." He snapped, feeling annoyed with the creature when it didn't budge. Crouching low, Dusty's tail thumped against the ground as his ears perked. Suddenly, the feline let out a strange yowl and leaped for him, claws unsheathed. Thinking quick, the brute jerked out of the way, letting out a snarl as sharp claws raked down his muzzle. Shaking his head, blood splattered onto the ground as he quickly glanced at the rat, before creeping slowly towards it. Smirking, he was able to snap his jaws on the feline's paws when it fell for the trick - lunging at him again. The creature let out some sort of strange, agonized noise as it backed away.
Standing up straight, Dusty barked, "Yeah, that's it! Run along, you peasant!" At his words, the feline let out a warning hiss, before retreating back into the shadows. Rolling his eyes, he muttered, "Dumb felines," before picking up the rat and burying it into the hole. A sudden, faint snarl caught the brute's attention, and his neck strained as he tried to pick up the scent. He scowled as he scented Teegan, along with a mutant's...
Whipping his head into the direction of the two scents, he sprinted towards it, slowing to a trot when he neared. Peering from behind the garbage cans, he realized that some sort of mutant was about to attack Teegan. Quickly darting over to the female's side, he decided not to question, instead, let out a snarl as he advanced towards the mutant.
