Without thinking, Dusty slid in front of the mutant, wanting to help Teegan than to jut stand there. While Teegan had a grip hold on the creature's shoulders, he scorched his claws down its face, before ducking out of each. The mutant's teeth nipped his ear, causing a small trickle of blood to come out. Ignoring that, he turned and darted over to the behind of the beast, placing a paw on its tail and using the other one to rake down the behind. It wasn't much of a strong attack, but at least it was distracting.
Risto rolled his eyes at Gavroche's playful behavior, wondering why the pup always wanted...fun. He didn't understand what was the point of having fun - wasn't working or being more serious better? Ear twitching, he continued to nose around the shore for more food as he flicked off a piece of seaweed from his muzzle. Something shiny caught his eye, and he turned and headed towards it, curious. As he approached, his eyes spotted something squarish that glinted in the sunlight. Wondering what it was, Risto crouched beside it, using a paw to bat at it as he frowned. Something about the object triggered his memories...
The feline stiffened as he was suddenly taken back to his old times. Instead of actually being in there, he stood a few feet away, watching two felines interact with each other. Frowning harder, Risto took a step forward, his eyes widening as the cats suddenly turned to face him - their faces reveled. It's me and my sister... he muttered to himself, trying to run and greet them. But something inside of him was holding him back, and all he could do was watch.
His heart rose when the two suddenly charged towards him, but surprise flickered in his eyes as they run directly through him. Whipping around, he realized that they were inspecting the same object he had encountered before, and amusement lit in his eyes. Taking a few steps forward, he willing forced himself to watch.
"Hey, what's this?" Risto called, waving his tail over to his sister. Ember, who he recalled as his sister's name, bounded over.
"Hmm. I don't know. Looks weird." Ember replied, giving the object a shove. It violently slid across the floor and giggles erupted from the two feline's mouth. "The humans are taking too long to come back home. I don't think they'll miss this object!" Ember added.
Soon, Risto found himself fading away, watching the two play with the object. A part of his heart ached, but before he knew it, he found himself back in the present. When he realized where he was, he shook out his pelt, feeling stiff as he glanced around. Everything was normal - just like it was before. A sigh escaped his mouth as he continued to scout around, acting as if nothing had happened.
