Risto fluffed out his fur. "Of course I'm coming!" He growled, getting control of his balance. Unsheathing he claws, he clawed the rest of way down the steps, his tail aching from the fall. When he arrived at the hole, he noticed that Teegan and Flak were standing on a dumpster. That should be easy, Risto thought. When Teegan urged him again, Risto muttered, "I'm coming, I'm coming."
Crouching down, he focused his attention on the dumpster--and leaped. Just as he did, something grasped his tail and jerked him back, sending him skidding across the museum floor. A little dazed, he recovered just in time to dodge a blow from a mutant. "I thought there were only four!" he gasped, streaking off. He realized that this mutant wasn't that big, maybe a little taller than he was. He felt the mutant's teeth snap at his tail as he scampered down the slippery floor of the museum. Pain stabbed through his paw, and he let out a yowl as the mutant sank its teeth into his tail. Not bothering to check what had happened to his paw, he let his strides go bigger as he wove his way through the debris. When the dumpster was in sight, he didn't stop to leap again. Inside, he lunged for the dumpster, clawing at the side of it as the mutant clung on stubbornly to his tail.
Risto panicked as he was slowly dragged off of the dumpster, but he quickly yanked his tail away from the mutant's fangs. Gritting his teeth, he snarled at the mutant, clawing at its face until it yelped and fled. Sighing, he shook out his ruffled fur and glared at Teegan, then at Flak, before examining his wounds. Narrowing his eyes, he noticed that he had torn a claw from the museum floor, and when he flicked his tail forward, he spat angrily to find that the wound on his tail had reopened, and that the top part of his tail was gone.
Growling, he turned back to the two dogs. "Can we go now?" he meowed impatiently.
